Expanding Access. Bringing Expertise Closer.
HCG Cancer Hospital strengthens its presence in Northeast India with the launch of the Expert Cancer OPD in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh—a meaningful step towards making specialised oncology care more accessible.
By bringing expert consultations closer to patients, this initiative enables early diagnosis, timely intervention, and informed decision-making—without the burden of long-distance travel.
Present on the occasion, Shri Biyuram Wahge, Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, appreciated the initiative taken to address the growing cancer burden in the state and improve access to quality care.
As Dr. Rupali Basu, Regional Business Head -East & AP, HCG shares, “Access to the right cancer care should never be defined by geography. This OPD ensures patients in the Northeast can make informed decisions at the earliest stage possible.”
Highlighting the importance of early intervention, Dr. Arijit Bishnu, Hemato Oncologist, HCG Cancer Centre, Kolkata adds, “Many cancer cases could benefit significantly from earlier detection. Initiatives like these help identify warning signs sooner and guide patients appropriately.”
Focusing on patient confidence and clarity, Dr. Manjunath, Surgical Oncologist – HCG Cancer Centre, Bangalore, says, “Beyond treatment, patients seek clarity and confidence. Through this OPD, we aim to simplify complex cancer journeys and guide them toward the most suitable course of action.”
Emphasising collaboration and continuity of care, Dr. Masoom Parwez, Surgical Oncology, HCG Cancer Centre, Kolkata, notes, “Such initiatives bridge the gap between patients and specialised care while fostering stronger engagement with local medical communities for a more integrated approach.”
Because when it comes to cancer care, access, awareness, and timely action can change outcomes.
