The patient waits for 10 days after Rhinoplasty surgery till the cast is removed. The patient keeps imagining how his/ her nose will look like after surgery, whether the crooked nose is straight now or the flat nose is sharp now.

But this wait is inevitable to keep the new structure in position. Only the surgeon knows what gift is wrapped underneath the tapes and plaster cast.

This patient had a deviated nose which was causing severe nasal obstruction and made his entire face look asymmetrical.

Rhinoplasty surgery is done for correcting nasal septum deviation and relieving breathing difficulty and also corrects the external appearance of the Nose if it is twisted, Deviated or flat.

11th Hands-on Temporal bone dissection workshop at Institute of Otorhinolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery for training of surgeons across the state under NPPCD program. It’s an unbelievable setup at the institute with 11 dissection workstations and having Zeiss operating microscope in each station, also provision for live demonstration & talk back facility with a separate Seminar hall having 30 seating capacity. You won’t believe it until you see it yourself.
It was fantastic sharing knowledge with everyone for last 3 days. It was a dream project of Arunabha Sengupta sir and we are living that dream now.

We are delighted to announce that the Institute of Otorhinolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery at IPGMER & SSKM in Kolkata is launching a new MCh course in Head Neck Surgery, offering four seats. This development is of great significance as it establishes the institute as a leading center for specialized training in this field. Prior to this, only Tata Memorial Hospital in Mumbai had four seats, making it the only institution offering such a program on a similar scale. In fact, across the entire country, there were only about 20 seats available for the MCh Head Neck Surgery program, making this initiative the first of its kind in West Bengal.

The introduction of this MCh course will have far-reaching implications for the healthcare system in West Bengal. By training more surgeons in the field of Head Neck Oncosurgery, the institute will address the growing demand for specialized care for thousands of Head Neck cancer patients in the region. These surgeons will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to diagnose, treat, and provide comprehensive care to patients suffering from various head and neck malignancies.

By removing financial barriers, the Institute of Otorhinolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery ensures that more individuals will receive the necessary medical attention and appropriate treatment options, free of cost.

For the first time Institute of Otorhinolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery, IPGMER & SSKM,Kolkata will host a workshop on Rhinoplasty with World leaders in Rhinoplasty, Dr Santdeep Paun from London,UK who has more than 25 years of experience in Rhinoplasty and is the Vice president of International Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (IBCFPRS) and Dr Sunil Tanvar, from Jaipur, is one of the two International Board certified Facial Plastic & reconstructive surgeons in India, who has decades of experience in Rhinoplasty and has taken up the torch to teach the art of Rhinoplasty in India.

Prof (Dr) Arunabha Sengupta and Prof (Dr) Debasis Barman invites all ENT surgeons interested in learning to do basic to advanced Rhinoplasty cases and all those experienced ENT and Rhinoplasty surgeons to grace us with their presence.
