A question to my intelligent friends with medical or nonmedical background. Is this practice of adding herbs like neem etc into products of modern medicine like isopropyl alcohol(doctors spirit/surgical spirit) and labelling them as Ayurvedic correct? Isopropyl alcohol is a strong germ killer itself and used extensively in allopathy. It does need weaker or mild antiseptic like neem in it to make it stronger. Pharmaceutical companies are using products of modern medicine as main ingredients but labelling the final products as AYURVEDIC in this way. This practice of ayurved piggy riding allopathy is disgusting and should be brought to public attention. This reflected glory is not going to last long. I am not against any branch of alternative medicine provided it's efficacy is proven beyond doubt by scientific community across the globe. If it works safely and effectively on human beings, we will be the first ones to incorporate it in our system. Promoting ayurved this wrong way is an unacceptable practice and should be condemned.
