🌙 Chair Savasana – Stillness is the Medicine

Let’s end this journey the way every mindful movement should end — in complete rest.
Because healing happens when we pause. And even in a chair, rest is possible.

Sit back comfortably with feet flat on the floor.
Let your hands rest on your thighs or lap, palms facing up.
Close your eyes. Soften your face, jaw, shoulders.
Let your breath slow down, without controlling it.
Just be here — for a minute or two.

✨ Why this pose matters:
– Calms the nervous system
– Integrates all the benefits of previous poses
– Offers a mental reset in the middle of your workday
– Teaches you to pause and receive, not just do

🌬 Wide-Leg Seated Stretch – Create Space & Stillness

Your hips, spine, and nervous system will thank you for this one.
This gentle wide-legged forward fold brings grounding, softness, and a deep inner release.

Sit tall near the front edge of your chair.
Extend your legs wide apart (as much as comfortable), heels grounded, toes flexed.
Inhale to lengthen the spine, exhale to hinge forward from the hips.
Place hands on the table in front of you or on your thighs. Stay here for 5 slow breaths.

✨ Why this pose matters:
– Releases tension from the inner thighs and lower back
– Encourages a calm, focused mind
– Gently stretches the spine and hamstrings
– Supports better circulation and posture

Make this your mid-day pause to reconnect with your breath and body.

🧘‍♀️ Hip Opener – Release Built-Up Tension

Your hips carry the weight of stillness—let’s bring in some movement.
This pose gently opens tight hips, often stiff from sitting too long.

Sit tall on your chair with both feet on the ground.
Now, place one ankle over the opposite knee—making a number “4” shape.
Flex the top foot to protect the knee.
Feeling steady? Hinge slightly forward from the hips to deepen the stretch.
Hold for 3–5 deep, conscious breaths, then switch sides.

✨ Why this pose matters:
– Releases tightness in hips and lower back
– Improves circulation after long periods of sitting
– Supports better posture and spinal alignment

Let’s open up the space we often forget—the heart.
This pose is all about undoing the forward collapse from long hours of typing and texting.

Sit tall on your chair with both feet firmly on the ground.
Hold the sides or backrest of the chair gently.
Roll the shoulders back and down, open the chest forward, and lift the heart.
Gaze slightly up if comfortable.
Stay here for 3–5 deep breaths.

– Opens the chest and shoulders
– Reverses the rounded back caused by screen time
– Boosts energy and confidence

🌈 Seated Side Stretch – Lengthen & Breathe

It’s time to move sideways — something we rarely do during long desk hours!

Sit tall on your chair with both feet grounded.
Hold the side of the chair with one hand for support.
Inhale, lift the opposite arm up toward the ceiling.
Exhale, lean gently to the side, creating space from hip to fingertips.
Keep both sit bones grounded. Feel the stretch along the side body and breathe into it for 3–5 slow breaths.
Repeat on the other side.

✨ Why it works:
– Relieves stiffness in the spine and waist
– Opens up the ribcage to enhance breath
– Helps counter poor posture and long sitting hours
– Boosts blood circulation and energy flow

It’s the perfect stretch to break out of your linear desk routine.
