कार्बनिक रसायन विज्ञान में आईआईटी बॉम्बे के प्रसिद्ध विद्वान डॉ. राकेश चंद्र अग्रवाल को हैदराबाद के पास कालबुर्गी में प्रतिष्ठित संगठन, 'भारत विकास संगम' द्वारा आयोजित 'भारतीय संस्कृति उत्सव' में गौमूत्र-आधारित उत्पाद, 'संजीवनी रस', उनके अभूतपूर्व नवाचार(innovation) के लिए 'भारत गौरव पुरस्कार' से सम्मानित किया गया ।

संजीवनी‌ रस गोवंश के मूत्र से तैयार‌ किया गया संरक्षित , सुगंधित ,स्वादिष्ट पेय है। भारतीय संस्कृति में कुछ औषधियाँ विरासत से चली आ रही हैं जैसे हल्दी, नीम, तुलसी अजवायन, दालचीनी आदि इसी तरह गोमूत्र भी पुरातन समय से औषधि रुप में रोगोपचार में उपयोग होता आया है। आज भी अनेक असाध्य रोगों का उपचार इस आयुर्वेदिक पद्दति से हो रहा है। परन्तु गोमूत्र शीघ्र सड़ने और दुर्गंध युक्त होने से इसका व्यापक उपयोग बाधित हो जाता है। इस समस्या का समाधान डॉ राकेश अग्रवाल ने संजीवनी रस, यानि बिना गर्म किये गोमूत्र का संरक्षित, सुगंधित एवं स्वादिष्ट पेय, की खोज की एवं पेटेंट भी प्राप्त किया।

यह आविश्कार उनकी वर्षों की खोज का नतीजा है। उन्होंने बताया कि करीब 3 साल तक करीब 300 से अधिक सैंपल अज़माने के बाद उन्होंने यह फार्मूला तैयार किया। कोटा यूनिवर्सिटी की माइक्रोबायोलॉजी डिपार्टमेंट की विभाग अध्यक्षा डॉ पल्लवी शर्मा द्वारा इस उत्पाद को सही प्रमाणित करते हुए इस पर आधारित कयी रिसर्च प्रकाशित किये गये। अब डाॅ अग्रवाल देश की अनेक गौशालों को इसका निशुल्क प्रशिक्षण दे रहे हैं। जिसके आधार पर यह उत्पाद देश के कोने कोने में बिक रहा है और गौशालाओं की आर्थिक स्थिति को सम्बल‌ मिला है। दूसरी ओर संजीवनी रस से लोगों को जटिल बीमारियों में जैसे टीबी, कैंसर, डेंगू आदि सभी में फायदा हो रहा है। यह अब देश के सभी भागों में आसानी से उपलब्ध हो रहा है ।
