Fitness isn’t a destination; it’s a lifelong journey. Just like eating is a daily part of our lives—sometimes healthy, sometimes a treat—fitness has its phases. You adjust, you adapt, but you never give up.

Pregnancy is a beautiful, natural experience. Yet, so often, it’s treated like an illness. It’s not. It’s a physiological change that requires care, but it’s not something to shy away from. Postpartum recovery is a phase of rest and rebuilding, but it’s just that—a phase. Then, you get back to working on yourself.

Fitness will always have its ups and downs, but as long as you keep moving, you’re moving forward. Results will come in time—consistency is key. This is me practicing different versions of natarajasana through different phases of my life. Pregnancy changed my flexibility and strength, but after postpartum recovery, I’m back at it. No matter what phase you’re in, never give up.

CORE ENGAGEMENT drills for POSTPARTUM women, for lumbar lordosis (excessive inward C Curve of lower back), for strengthening pelvic floor muscles and for anyone looking to improve their deep core engagement practice:

1st slide:
Keep pulling your navel in towards the spine and try to swing the leg forward and not down. Exhale as you tap your toes on the floor.

2nd slide:
Keep a block or a cushion between the knees and press the cushion and release. This one is especially important if you have weak pelvic floor. Exhale as you press the cushion and inhale as you release.

3rd slide:
Keep pulling the navel in towards the spine as lift you your head. Keep your body completely stable and swing your arms at your comfortable speed. Breathe deeply throughout.

You can do each drill for 30 seconds and repeat for 3-4 sets.

P.S: Please ask your doctor before starting any workout after delivery. It is generally advised to wait for 6-8 weeks postpartum before starting your workout.

*10-Day Yoga Journey to 108 Surya Namaskar*

This will be the 3rd International day of Yoga (21st June) that I am bringing back the 108 Sun Salutations challenge. For the last 2 years, I have been leading this free workshop, with the aim to not just do 108 Sun Salutations on 21st June but also to signify the importance of consistency and it's immeasurable benefits.

Sun Salutation or Surya Namaskar is a sequence of 12 postures that, when done properly in synchronicity with the breath, is one of the most powerful yoga movement.

We will start this workshop from 11th June, 2022 with first the basics and gradually progress towards our challenge.
