Earth Day Celebration at Maharishi Vidya Mandir Public School, Kotdwar (Uttarakhand)
Earth Day 2026 was celebrated at Maharishi Vidya Mandir Public School, Kotdwar, with great joy and enthusiasm.
Students and teachers actively participated in various programs organized to mark the occasion.
The celebration began with a special morning assembly. During the assembly, students and teachers delivered inspiring speeches highlighting the importance of protecting our planet. Students also presented poem recitations, while the little children performed a beautiful dance, adding joy and excitement to the celebration.
After the assembly, drawing, poster-making, and slogan-writing competitions were organized. Students participated enthusiastically and showcased their creativity through wonderful drawings and meaningful slogans. Their artworks were later displayed for parents and guests, who appreciated the students’ efforts and creativity.
During the assembly, teachers and students spoke about how to preserve and protect our Earth and the small steps we can take in our daily lives to care for the environment.
The Principal of the school, Ravindar Singh Gusain, also addressed the gathering. He spoke about our beautiful planet Earth—our home—and explained why it is unique and why it is our responsibility to protect and preserve it.
At the end of the program, the Principal encouraged students to take a pledge to protect the Earth in every possible way. Students promised to make the planet greener by saving electricity, conserving water, and caring for nature.
A special oath to save water was taken by all the students and teachers. They pledged not to waste water and to use it wisely, recognizing that water is one of the most precious resources on Earth.
The program concluded with great enthusiasm. Students thoroughly enjoyed the activities and left with a strong promise to protect and preserve our planet for a better future.
