Honoured to be the Chief Guest at the National Dental Day program organized by IDA Pala. It was a wonderful occasion to celebrate the dedication of the dental fraternity.
I had the privilege of felicitating senior dental surgeons who have completed 25 years of service, recognizing their commitment to patient care and the profession. I also spoke about the important role dental surgeons play in the early detection and prevention of oral cancer, as dentists are often the first to identify suspicious oral lesions.
My sincere thanks to IDA Kerala State Vice President Dr. Raju Sunny, IDA Pala President Dr. Jeo Tom Charles, Secretary Dr. Bijo Kurian, IDA Legal Cell Vice Chairman Dr. Ittiyavara Babu, and Dr. Amal Baby (CDH Chairman, IDA Pala) for the kind invitation and warm hospitality. It was truly a memorable and meaningful program.

Mani is a touching story about her 15 days of radiation therapy for early breast cancer at Caritas Cancer Institute, with the care of Dr. Jenny Joseph. This memoir isn't just about the treatment itself; it's about choosing to live a full and joyful life despite challenges—choosing not to feel sorry for oneself, to keep dreaming, and to live fully even while undergoing therapy.

Each chapter represents a day of therapy but is filled with humor, warmth, reflection, and gratitude instead of fear and exhaustion. During this period, Dr.Nisha Mani completed her PhD, celebrated Christmas, and even played Santa Claus. Radiation was only a small part of her day, while life remained the main focus.

For healthcare providers who often focus only on medical aspects like tumor sizes and treatment plans, this book is a gentle reminder about the personal side of a patient's journey and how resilience and beauty can be found in difficult times.
