Plathottam Athirampuzha Plathottam Family Fraternity A member of Mannarukunnu Bhattathiripadu Ezhillasherri Illam Whom became followers of Christianity from St.

Thomas shifted to Athirampuzha in 1650, there started the History of Athirampuzha Plathottam family,
Kulamkuthiyil ,Chamakalayil ,Pottanannikal, Plathottam became main branches and expanded with lot more sub branches and shoot branches. Ozhukayil, Menacheril, Panachel, Moorthiyil, Kiliyampuraikkal, Chingamanayil, Thottananiyil, Karivelil , Palavelil , Kaithamattam are some among them. Now, Plathottathil Family Group includes more than 350 known units & and spread wide across the globe. History always turns out to be a sheer story for the next generations and our history says its been more than 125 years since Athirampuzha Plathottam Family Meet established. Those days our ancestors used to unite once in a month for prayers and conducted mass in Athirampuha church in every first Monday of month. But later on by time that routine got stopped. And again in 1940's Luka Mathai Plathottam, Ulahanan Luka Kiliyampuraikal, Chako Kuruvila Kulamkuthiyil, Thomman Devasia Ozhukayil, Thomman Ousepu Ozukayil revamped this unity in the name of Plathottam Kudumbayogam. We should not loose our legacy in depths of time and ignorance. So with this joining let us try to immortalize reminiscence of our predecessors who made us proud with their life.

Looka Mathai Plathottam,(1888-1968)
1) The person who introduced homoeopathy to Athirampuzha 1920 First Homoeopathic practitioner in Athirampuzha, Those days he used to bring Homoeo Medicine from Calcutta for treatment.

2) Was the Managing Director Plathottathil and Company LTD. (1915-1965)
(a public limited company which was registered according to the norms of East India Company, used to pay income tax to British government and dealt with cotton handlooms in a large scale)

3) Was the Managing Partner St Mary's Press Athirampuzha, ( in the year 1930) and published many books including Varthamanappusthakam. (This entitles as the first travelogue in any Indian language)

4) The man behind bringing electricity to Athirampuzha, bearing all expenses himself for converting his coal/steam operated power loom into electric in his weaving establishment
