Sree Subramania Ayurvedic Nursing Home (SSANH) in its present form in Calicut was founded in the year 1974 by Thekkayil Rajaratnam Vaidyar, who was honored with the award of Bhishak Ratna by the Corporation of Calicut in the year 2009 for his prominence in Ayurveda. Dr.Sanand Ratnam Thekkayil (BAMS, MD), the youngest practicing member of Thekkeyil family is currently spearheading SSANH. The founde

Thekkayil family has upheld the tradition of practicing “Vaidyam” or treatment since then. SSANH strictly follows the traditional Ayurvedic methods for treatments and the preparation of medicines. The traditional wisdom of treatment and medicine preparation has been handed over to generations by the founding fathers of SSANH. With the advent of the modern era of medical technologies, the current generation of the Thekkeyil family has adopted modern treatment techniques and offers a treatment with a blend of traditional wisdom and modern treatment methods. SSANH has received the prestigious Green Leaf accreditation offered by the Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala, for offering a range of Ayurvedic treatment for various ailments. SSANH has been a Green Leaf institution since 2009. Prior to being elevated to a Green Leaf status, SSANH was awarded Olive Leaf accreditation from 2005 to 2008.The current duration of the Green Leaf accreditation is given for a period of three years starting from April 2015. This accreditation was given to SSANH by carefully scrutinizing each of the requirements such as expertise of technicians, treatment facilities, quality of medicines, quality of machinery etc. SSANH has also been empanelled into Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) whereby extending facilities to the Central Government and other public sector undertaking employees. SSANH, was the only hospital which was recommended by Quality Council of India (QCI) Team for CGHS empanelment in the year 2015. SSANH is the first Ayurveda hospital in the four northern districts of Kerala, viz. Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargode to receive this highest achievement.
