Mobile phones and brain tumors — one of the most common fears I hear from patients.
But here’s the truth based on current scientific evidence:
There is no strong proof that mobile phone use causes brain tumors.
The World Health Organization has classified mobile radiation as “possibly carcinogenic” — which means the evidence is not clear or conclusive, not that it definitely causes cancer.
However, excessive mobile use can definitely affect your brain in other ways:
▪ Sleep disturbance
▪ Anxiety and mental stress
▪ Headaches
▪ Poor concentration and attention
So the goal is not to fear your phone — but to use it wisely.
✔ Use earphones for long calls
✔ Avoid keeping phone under your pillow
✔ Limit unnecessary screen time
Don’t let misinformation create fear.
Let science guide you.
