Quality control and hygiene are not expenses — they are savings.

At Graduate Farmer strict feed quality control, clean litter, and hygienic farm management help keep birds healthy from day one.
When birds stay healthy, medicine use automatically reduces, mortality goes down, and production cost per bird comes down.

Good hygiene = less disease
Good feed = better growth
Less medicine = higher profit for farmers

This is how sustainable poultry farming is done — by control, not by chemicals.

Many people talk about startups.
At Graduate Farmer, we work on the ground every single day.

From feed preparation inside our own factory to farm monitoring at field level, from training farmers to ensuring antibiotic-free practices, this is not a presentation… this is our daily routine.

Real factory.
Real workers.
Real farms.

That’s how systems are built.
That’s how trust is earned.

We don’t chase noise.
We build agriculture—step by step, village by village. 🌱🐔

This initiative didn't originate as a business concept. It originated from observing a persistent issue - poultry farmers struggling to stay afloat, consumers losing faith, and a system that neglected safety and integrity. Graduate Farmer was established to reform the system, not merely to sell chicken. Our goal is to restore trust, discipline, and accountability throughout the entire supply chain, from farm to table. We prioritize long-term sustainability over expedient solutions, focusing on building a lasting legacy.

Bamboo is not just a traditional material — it is a smart, sustainable solution for modern poultry farming.

Here’s how bamboo can be effectively used in poultry operations 👇

🔹 Poultry Shed Structure
Bamboo can replace iron and cement for shed frames. It is strong, flexible, locally available, and reduces construction cost by 40–60%.

🔹 Roofing & Side Walls
Bamboo mats, splits, and woven panels provide excellent ventilation, helping control heat stress in birds.

🔹 Flooring & Raised Platforms
Raised bamboo platforms improve hygiene, drainage, and airflow — especially useful in rain-prone and flood-affected areas.

🔹 Partitions & Brooding Guards
Easy to install, low-cost bamboo partitions are perfect for chick brooding and batch separation.

🔹 Feeders, Fencing & Walkways
With simple treatment, bamboo can be used for feeders, fencing, and internal walkways, reducing plastic and metal usage.

🌍 Why Bamboo Makes Sense for Poultry Farmers

✅ Low cost & locally available
✅ Eco-friendly, low carbon footprint
✅ Better airflow → healthier birds
✅ Faster construction & easy repair
✅ Ideal for rural & semi-urban farms

With proper treatment, bamboo structures can last 4–5 years and support antibiotic-free, low-stress poultry farming.

🌱 Assam and the North East have abundant bamboo resources.
By using bamboo in poultry farming, we can:

Reduce dependency on iron & cement

Lower capital investment for farmers

Promote sustainable agri-entrepreneurship

Innovation doesn’t always mean expensive technology — sometimes it means using nature wisely.

When diagnosis is clear, farmers gain understanding and control. They stop depending on trial-and-error solutions and start making informed decisions. In agriculture, correct diagnosis saves money, time, and trust. Because when you truly understand the problem, the solution usually takes care of itself.

In broiler farming, every rupee of input matters—especially for small and emerging poultry farmers. A typical tin/iron brooder basket used for guarding heat and light in chick brooding costs around ₹1,000, which adds to the high startup cost of poultry operations. In contrast, a locally made bamboo basket costs only about ₹100, provides natural ventilation for the chicks, and performs the same protective function during the first critical days of brooding. By switching to bamboo baskets, farmers can reduce input costs by more than 80%, making poultry farming more affordable and financially viable.

In the North East Region of India, the total poultry population is estimated at around 69 million birds, accounting for roughly 8% of the country’s total poultry—with many farmers still using traditional and semi-commercial systems for broilers and backyard flocks. If each farm uses multiple baskets per cycle, the cumulative cost of tin baskets becomes significant. Adopting bamboo options not only saves money for farmers but also supports local bamboo artisans and rural economies, creating income opportunities. Better yet, bamboo baskets are biodegradable, breaking down naturally and enriching the soil after use—in stark contrast to metal baskets that can become waste. This simple, sustainable shift lowers costs, uplifts rural craftsmen, and reduces environmental impact, making poultry farming more resilient and eco-friendly.
