International Yoga Day 21st June
अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस 21 जून

Yoga originated in India as an ancient physical, mental and spiritual practice. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness.
Today it is practiced in various forms worldwide and continues to grow in popularity.

Recognizing its universal appeal, on 11 December 2014, the United Nations proclaimed 21 June as the International Day of Yoga.

The International Day of Yoga aims to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practising yoga.

योग एक प्राचीन शारीरिक, मानसिक और आध्यात्मिक अभ्यास है जिसकी उत्पत्ति भारत में हुई थी। 'योग' शब्द संस्कृत से निकला है और इसका अर्थ है जुड़ना या एकजुट होना, जो शरीर और चेतना के मिलन का प्रतीक है।

आज यह दुनिया भर में विभिन्न रूपों में प्रचलित है और लोकप्रियता में वृद्धि जारी है।

इसकी सार्वभौमिक अपील को स्वीकार करते हुए, 11 दिसंबर 2014 को, संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने 21 जून को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय योग दिवस के रूप में घोषित किया।

योग के अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस का उद्देश्य योग के अभ्यास के कई लाभों के बारे में दुनिया भर में जागरूकता बढ़ाना है।
