Bakri Store at your service!
Weaning of calves/kids/lamb instantly reduces the stresses on the dam as a result of total isolation of the weaner.
Why wean?
1. Allows dam to recover from stresses of lactation and improve body condition, therefore, shortens calving/lambing/kidding interval.
2. Increased conception rates in females as weaning before or during the breeding season can allow dams a greater opportunity to rebreed in an optimum time frame. In all of the farms, one should manage and wean early and have sheep and goats give birth twice in one year.
3. Improves forage availability for the dam since demand by the weaner is eliminated.
Early weaning requires:
• Increased greater attention to proper health, nutrition, and management practices such as dehorning, castration, etc.
• Farmers must be able to afford to feed weaned animals complete diets which contain the correct quantities of all nutrients needed by growing animals.
• Weaners are to be isolated in their own pen which is clean, dry, and disinfected.
• The farmer is able to monitor daily feed intake, digestive disturbances, and respiratory diseases.
Ages for weaning:
✅Calves can be weaned as early as 8 to 12 weeks after being creep fed for at least 3 to 4 weeks prior to weaning.
✅Kids and lambs can be weaned as early as 2 weeks and introduced to lamb creep. We wean at a month old at all farms we manage.
Before weaning:
✅Weigh animals to calculate the correct amount of feed to give to avoid underfeeding and overfeeding.
✅Provide good quality vitamins and minerals supplementation to weaners.
✅Vaccinate weaners for clostridial diseases found in pasture e.g. Pulpy kidney, Botulism, tetanus, etc.
✅Treat for both internal and external parasites.
✅The farm's emergency kit must be stocked with oxytetracycline for sulfur-based antibiotics as well as a proselyte to treat scours in weaned animals.

11/01/2023

New business opportunities, such as meat goat production, exist to diversify their farm operations and explore alternative enterprises and innovative marketing systems to increase their farm income. Goats are one of the most intelligent, rewarding, and entertaining animals to own. As farm animals, they can be used to produce a variety of products, such as milk, cheese, and yogurt, meat, wool, and body products such as soap and therapeutic skin creams. Whether you are interested in goats for their leather, dairy products, or for filling your fridge, your choice and management of available breeds can make the difference between your goats making or costing you money. No matter which type of goat you are considering keeping, knowing the tricks of the trade will allow you to make the most out of your goats without losing your shirt in the process.
Apart from being delicious, goat meat is a high-protein healthy red meat full of vitamins and minerals. Not only is it a great source of protein, but goat meat is also full of Vitamins B12, C, E, A, and K, as well as iron, calcium, phosphorus, zinc, copper, manganese, selenium, potassium, and sodium. This combination of very high protein, vitamins, and minerals makes goat meat one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet. On a global scale, 65% of meat consumed in the world is the goat.
In addition, goats are used purely as subsistence animals by peasant farmers further condemning the status of the goat. Goats are usually kept by small-holder farmers and are frequently found in regions with little resources where other livestock encounter difficulties in surviving. Goats are important to the subsistence and economic development of peasant farmers because they are cheaper to keep than cattle and provide a constant supply of essential food (both meat and milk) and income throughout the year. There are very few farmers that are rearing goats at a commercial level. The selective breeding and feeding regimes that meat animals have had to improve their confirmation and yield have never been applied to goats. The goat carcasses are seen as inferior to those of other meat animals. In effect, goats are the most artistic of all livestock and can be used to adorn our cities in recreational facilities to showcase their beauty. These peri-urban goat farms can potentially add a new angle to urban tourism.
This just goes to show that goats are highly versatile, it’s not just the meat that matters. Goat amusement parks can bring much-needed revenue. In order to increase our national goat herd, a collective effort is required across the whole goat value chain. In fact, no single farmer can produce enough goats to meet either local or export demand. All in all, goats are an opportunity for us to present the best of who we are to the world. It’s an industry that we can build and prove our famed collective brilliance.

Goat Milk Soap Benefits!
Goat milk soap is wonderful for people with dry or sensitive skin or conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. It is also perfect for healthy skin that wants to stay that way.
Unprocessed, raw goat milk fresh from the farm contains the following benefits.
1. Alpha Hydroxy Acids.
Goat milk contains alpha-hydroxy acids such as lactic acid which help remove dead skin cells from your skin’s surface. This leaves new cells on the surface of your skin that are smoother and younger-looking. The alpha-hydroxy acids are so effective because they break down the bonds that hold the dead skin cells together. Removing dead skin cells will help many skin conditions by removing irritation.
2. Vitamins.
Goat milk contains many vitamins but is particularly high in Vitamin A, which is necessary to repair damaged skin tissue and maintain healthy skin. There have been several medical studies showing that creams made with Vitamin A reduce lines and wrinkles, control acne, and provide some psoriasis relief.
3. Cream.
Fat molecules are an important part of making good soap. The cream that is present in goat milk helps boost the moisturizing quality of goat milk soaps.
4. Minerals.
Goat milk contains important minerals for the skin such as selenium. Selenium is believed by scientists to have an important role in preventing skin cancer. Selenium can also help prevent damage to the skin from excessive time in the sun.

Goat's milk is often the preferred choice for babies and toddlers after breast milk. Compared to standard cow milk, soy milk, or nut milk, goat milk has more protein per serving. And, the protein in goat milk appears to be more digestible, meaning your body can use it more easily. Goat milk also contains significantly more protein than almond milk or rice milk. Raw goat milk is also an excellent source of vitamin A. Studies have shown that vitamin A may lower the risk of conditions like cataracts, diarrhea, measles, and breast cancer.
It's been said that ancient Egyptians used goat milk to heal and nurture their skin. Goat milk is packed with fatty acids, proteins, amino acids, and vitamins to hydrate and soothe skin. It is really good for those with conditions like eczema or psoriasis. Goat milk also contains lactic acid, which is a natural exfoliate that helps keep your skin clear. Goat milk is a go-to for many because it's a gentle ingredient that works both as a moisturizer and as an exfoliant.

Happy Customer Feedback🥰❤
Feedback inspire us to improve our services and our product. Happy to receive this lovely Feedback from our regular customer 🙏🙏
This really made our day. Thank you so much🤗🤗
Since the 1980s, a growing interest in goat milk was noticed due to the nutritional values and health benefits of this milk, which resulted in increasing goat populations and milk production worldwide. This comprehensive review elaborates on goat milk composition compared to other types of milk. It is also an overview of goat milk production, properties, nourishment value, applications in dairy products, and potential health benefits. Goat milk composition and its characteristics are slightly different from other types of milk and can be utilized to manufacture many dairy products. Fresh goat milk and goat milk products (e.g., yogurt and kefir) were found to provide various potential health benefits, such as anti-inflammatory, preventing cardiovascular disease, anti-diabetic and anti-hypertensive, strengthening bones, boosting immunity, and improving metabolism.
In much of the developing world, goat milk is the primary milk source for humans. Goat milk is often sought for its perceived health benefits and unique taste. Although many health effects have been attributed to consuming goat milk, scientific evidence does not support most health claims. Goat milk is similar in composition to cow milk, but some important differences exist in the protein structure. Because of these differences, people who have allergies to cow milk can often drink goat milk, and the smaller fat globules in goat milk stay in suspension longer, which leads to the perception of "natural homogenization." Goats are excellent browsers, which allows them to consume plants containing aromatic or flavor compounds that can impart the smell or flavor to the milk or cheese, thus providing an opportunity to generate unique specialty products.
Tip of the day - Enjoy a glass of Goat’s milk 🥛 with a tablespoon of honey 🍯 every morning for these amazing benefits:
• Helps with digestion
• Better stamina
• Strengthens bones
• Aids for better sleep at night
• Glowing and moisturized skin
• Rich in antibacterial properties
A great way to include these powerful combos in your A.M. routine!

Livestock manure is a popular form of fertilizer, particularly when budgets do not allow for commercial fertilizer. Manure can be an effective supplementary organic fertilizer if handled and used correctly. It can, however, be very harmful if applied in excessive quantities. Note that all manures are not equal. The mineral nutrient content of manure obtained from different animals differs widely in terms of both concentration and ratios between nutrient elements. Even manure obtained from the same type of livestock can differ drastically in nutrient content.

Goat Farming Tips:
Don't start your goat business with one goat. Plan on getting at least two goats. Normally if you have enough funds get ten goats. Goats are social animals and are more likely to be uncooperative or try to escape if kept alone. Always keep at least two goats in each enclosure. Don't keep uncastrated males (bucks) with females (does) in the same enclosure all the time except for a planned breeding purpose.
Goat farmers need some basic system of record keeping. Your system should be able to give you the following information:
👉The exact number of goats that you have (broken down into different age categories)
👉The dates when your ewes give birth and the number of kids born
👉The number of goats that die (and the age when they die and the cause of death)
👉The exact goats that have been treated (for what and with what)
👉Who is the mother of any particular kid is
👉When a particular ram was brought into the herd
👉The age of any particular goat (the year it was born)
👉The number of goats sold, the time when sold, and prices obtained.
Abortions and stillborn kids are usually caused by an infection like toxoplasmosis, brucellosis, chlamydiosis, or leptospirosis. Kids may also be born weak and die shortly after birth as a result of these infections. Infections are often a result of poor farm hygiene or poor biosecurity. Does younger than 3 years of age and older than 9 years of age abort more often? Chlamydiosis is the most common form of infectious abortion in goats. It is passed to other animals in the fluids and membranes from aborted fetuses or the vaginal discharge from an infected doe. Older Does that have been exposed to chlamydia are immune, but young Does can become infected and abort. In a flock that has not been exposed to chlamydia before, older Does can also have high abortion rates.
