Diwali, also called Deepavali, is one of the biggest and the most auspicious festivals celebrated by Hindus all around the world. The festival of lights signifies peace, prosperity and joy, the victory of good over evil, and light over darkness.
Just like Most Hindus celebrate Diwali for a Various reasons, based on mythological events that had occurred on the day of deepawali mentioned in the hindu scriptures. Similarly the Arya Samajis, the followers of Arya Samaj or Noble Society, too observe Deepawali, but for a different reason. On the day of Deepawali, the founder of Arya Samaj Swami Dayanand Saraswati attained nirvana. Deepawali, thus in arya samaj, has a very special significance. The Arya Samaj emerged from the Hindu reform movement founded by Swami Dayanand in the 19th Century.
