BDes Industrial Design: Admission Process
The following points are important to keep in mind for BDes Industrial Design admission:
BDes Admission is done through entrance exams like AIEED, CEED, DAT, etc in various government and private universities across India.
Apart from BDes entrance exams, rounds like (PI) Personal Interview and Portfolio Presentation are some of the important BDes admission requirements in various institutes.
Minimum age limit is 19 years and 23 years for BDes admission in institutions like NID and NIFT respectively.
Based on an aspirant’s entrance exam score, they are shortlisted and called for subsequent rounds of admission such as group discussion (GD), personal interview (PI) etc.
BDes Industrial Design: Eligibility Criteria
Aspirants seeking admission in BDes Industrial Design course must qualify the below given criterias:
Passing Intermediate in any stream: They can directly take admission to a BDes course if you have graduated from a recognized educational board, through direct admission to colleges, or through various entrances and counselling afterward.
Diploma in Design: Aspirants can pursue BDes if you have completed your diploma course in design recognized by AICTE.
BDes Industrial Design: Entrance Exams

VITEEE: It is a national level exam conducted by VIT University. VITEEE Eligibility Criteria requires candidates to have scored a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Chemistry, Physics, Biology/Mathematics at Intermediate level. Moreover, VITEEE 2021 Score will be compulsory for BDes admissions into all campuses of VIT.
UPSEE: is a state-level exam for candidates seeking admission in various UG and PG courses to institutes affiliated to AKTU. The exam paper is set in English and Hindi and has no negative marking. There are over 10 Papers for various courses.
NPAT: It is the authorized entrance exam for admissions to UG Degree and Integrated Degree Programs in Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies or the NMIMS University. The basic eligibility criterion is that candidates have to be below 25 years of age at the time of registration.
NIFT: It is a national level examination for admission to various design courses like B.Des, and B.FTech, for undergraduate courses and M.Des and M.FTech for post-graduation programs. NIFT Entrance Exams will be conducted in over 30 cities with 16 accepting colleges across India.
AIEED: It is a national level entrance exam held in three phases – Stage I, Stage II, and Stage III. conducted by ARCH Academy of Design for admissions to Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs in Design. The duration of the exam will be 180 minutes and will consist of 50 questions.
