Postmenopausal bleeding is treatable — once the cause is identified.

In some women, hormone replacement therapy can lead to bleeding after menopause.
Other conditions are treated based on the cause:
• infections with medications
• polyps removed through hysteroscopy
• and if cancer of the cervix or uterus is detected, treatment may involve surgery using laparoscopic or robotic techniques, depending on the stage

The key is timely diagnosis and expert care.

Don’t delay evaluation — consult a specialist early. - https://drbhumikabansal.com/menopausal-health.html

Have you done your Antenatal classes?

26/02/2026

Postmenopausal bleeding always needs a proper medical evaluation.

A detailed assessment by a senior gynecologist may include:
• Examination of the uterine lining (biopsy)
• Hysteroscopy to look inside the uterus
• Imaging tests like ultrasound or MRI
• Pap smear testing
• Complete physical examination
These steps help identify the cause early and guide the right treatment.
Timely evaluation brings clarity and peace of mind.

I get asked all the time, “Dr. Bhumika, is it actually safe to hit the pool?” The short answer? Yes! In fact, it’s one of my absolute favorite recommendations. It’s gentle on your joints, keeps you cool, and honestly, that feeling of gravity finally letting go of your back is pure bliss. ☁️

🛑 But... wait a second!

Safety first, always. You should skip the laps and take a break if you’re feeling:

Any dizziness or lightheadedness.

Unusual pain or contractions.

Any “leaking” or spotting.

Before you go out and buy that cute maternity swimsuit, please check in with your gynecologist. Every pregnancy journey is different, and we want to make sure you have the 100% “all clear” based on your specific health history.

👇 Drop a “🌊” in the comments if you’ve been craving a pool day! Or tell me—how are you staying active lately?

Bleeding after menopause can sometimes be due to growths inside the uterus, such as:

• Polyps
• Fibroids

In a smaller proportion of cases (around 10%), it may indicate cancers of the uterus, cervix, or ovaries.

While many cases are non-cancerous, any bleeding after menopause requires proper medical evaluation.
It should never be ignored.

21/02/2026

Bleeding after menopause? Don’t ignore it.

If periods have stopped for 1 year and bleeding starts again, it’s called postmenopausal bleeding.

In most cases (around 90%), it’s due to non-cancerous causes like va**nal dryness, thinning of the uterus lining, or infection.
Still — evaluation is important.

If you or someone you know is experiencing this, consult a specialist.

Not all uterine surgeries require external incisions.

Hysteroscopic surgery is a minimally invasive procedure that helps diagnose and treat conditions like fibroids, polyps, abnormal bleeding, and certain fertility concerns using a thin camera through the va**na.

Understanding your options is the first step toward better reproductive health.

Swipe through to see the beautiful community forming in our postnatal classes. ➡️

As a doctor, my care for you doesn’t end the moment you are discharged. In fact, some of the most important work begins when you head home. I know that the transition into parenthood—the “Fourth Trimester”—can feel like a beautiful, exhausting whirlwind.

I’ve watched many of you walk these halls during your pregnancy, and seeing you return with your little ones for our postnatal sessions is the highlight of my week.

In these classes, we focus on more than just the basics. We’re here to support:

Your Physical Healing: Navigating your recovery with patience and expert guidance.

Your Mental Wellbeing: A safe space to talk about the highs and the lows of new parenthood.

Your Confidence: Giving you the tools to trust your instincts as you get to know your baby.

Seeing the bonds formed between families in these rooms reminds me why I chose this profession. You aren’t just patients to us; you’re part of our hospital family.

If you’ve recently welcomed a little one, please know our doors are always open for support. Swipe to see our upcoming schedule. 🗓️

Which part of the postnatal journey has been the most “unexpected” for you? I’d love to hear your stories in the comments.

You may be taking your iron tablets incorrectly. 💊

Iron works only when it’s properly absorbed. Taking it with tea, coffee, or calcium can reduce its effect, while vitamin C helps improve absorption. For best results, take iron on an empty stomach or with a light snack if needed.

Small changes can make a big difference in improving iron levels.

Your baby’s skin is delicate, so it’s important to prepare their clothes properly before first use.

Avoid washing baby clothes with antiseptics like Dettol or Savlon, as these can irritate the skin and cause rashes. Always use a mild baby detergent or baby soap instead. Ensure the clothes are thoroughly dry in the sunlight and ironed for optimal hygiene.

Remember, never dress your newborn in new clothes without washing them first.
These simple steps help keep your baby comfortable and rash-free.
