Introduction — Dr. Amol Murkut
Dr. Amol Murkut is an officer of the Indian Police Service (IPS) from the 2021 batch and is currently serving as Additional Superintendent of Police (Addl. SP) / Additional DCP in the Police Commissionerate, Lucknow. He holds an MBBS degree, which gives him a scientific and human-centered approach to public service and law enforcement. His key areas of work include community policing, youth engagement, and the use of technology in maintaining public safety.

Before joining the IPS, Dr. Murkut completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and decided to serve the nation through the civil services. Originally from Buldhana district in Maharashtra, he is known for his disciplined work ethic and leadership in the Uttar Pradesh Police.

He has served in important roles such as Assistant Commissioner of Police (Kanpur) and Additional DCP (Lucknow), focusing on crime prevention, urban policing, and cyber awareness. His leadership style emphasizes transparency, technology integration, and citizen trust-building.

Dr. Murkut has been actively involved in public awareness programs, especially on cybersecurity and youth safety. He is appreciated for his proactive approach and continues to motivate students and young professionals through his guidance and public interactions.
