There are millions of people in India, spread across towns and cities, who have become mentally-ill and for a variety of reasons (no access to proper treatment, confusion, or simply driven out by families etc.) are forced to spend their days on roads, in really filthy, inhumane and undignified conditions. We have no record on such people, because in most of these cases are not reported to police. It puts a big question mark on their futures, and potentially deprives our country of an immense human capital, as timely medical intervention could help them recover. Just like any other medical condition, this too can happen to anyone – irrespective of their class and creeds or financial status. Unfortunately, as yet there has been no concrete planning and action from the government or other organizations to tackle this problem. So many of them simply die in most inhumane manner, or are forced in to slavery. In many cases their family members have searched for too long, and have lost hopes of ever seeing their loved ones again. It may be noted that most cases of mental illness is treatable. Our organization (KV Mental Helping Trust) is dedicated to achieve that and to help these people reunite with their families. Our endeavour is to get proper treatment to every single one of them, and help them get back to their normal lives. The success of this work is not possible with the help of people like all of us. Your contribution and help is most invaluable in our endeavour. We are not yet able enough to sustain our activities financially, so we value any amount of financial contribution from you. If you are not able to help us financially, you can help us in several other ways. If you come across any such mentally-ill person on road, please get his photo clicked and send to us along with the details of where you saw him/her. We will make all possible efforts to reunite them with their families. We will match the photos taken by you with our and police records and try our best to communicate with their families in case we find them.
