हिंदू की हालिया रिपोर्ट के अनुसार, भारत में लगभग 10 करोड़ लोगों को चश्मे की आवश्यकता है, लेकिन उन्हें बुनियादी नेत्र देखभाल भी उपलब्ध नहीं है।

इस संख्या के पीछे वे बच्चे हैं जिन्हें कक्षा में बोर्ड साफ़ दिखाई नहीं देता, वे युवा हैं जिनका कामकाज प्रभावित होता है, और वे परिवार हैं जो ऐसी दृष्टि समस्याओं से जूझते हैं जिन्हें समय रहते आसानी से ठीक किया जा सकता था।

पहले पढ़ाई करना भी उनके लिए मुश्किल था, लेकिन अब हालात बेहतर हो रहे हैं।

जब उनके परिवार को अस्पताल के बारे में पता चला, तो वे उन्हें यहां लेकर आए, जहाँ उन्हें इलाज के साथ एक स्मार्ट वॉकिंग केन और स्मार्टफोन दिया गया ताकि वे खुद से सीख सकें और आगे बढ़ सकें।

इस दिवाली, उत्तर प्रदेश में 300 से अधिक लोग चेहरे और आंखों की चोटों के साथ सितापुर आई हॉस्पिटल में भर्ती हुए ये सभी चोटें अवैध कार्बाइड गन के इस्तेमाल से हुई हैं।
एक मामले में, एक छोटे लड़के ने डॉ. आकांक्षा को बताया कि कैसे उसे चोट लगी। पास के अस्पताल में उसे कहा गया कि उसकी आंख की रोशनी चली जाएगी… लेकिन सितापुर आने के बाद इलाज से अब वह थोड़ा देख पा रहा है।
ये एक गंभीर सार्वजनिक सुरक्षा का मुद्दा है। अगर आप कहीं असुरक्षित पटाखे या कार्बाइड गन का इस्तेमाल देखें, तो तुरंत इसकी जानकारी दें।

This Diwali, over 300 people in Uttar Pradesh have been admitted to Sitapur Eye Hospital with facial and eye injuries caused by illegal carbide guns.
In one case, a young boy told Dr. Akanksha how he was injured, taken to a local hospital and told he could lose his vision… and then came here for treatment. Thanks to the care he received, he says he can see a little again.

दिवाली रोशनी और खुशियों का त्योहार है, लेकिन यह हमारे छोटे बच्चों के लिए कुछ छिपे खतरे भी ला सकता है। 💥

डॉ. नीरज संदूजा के अनुसार, पटाखों से निकलने वाला ज़हरीला धुआं बच्चों की आँखों को चुभ, जलन और सूजन पहुँचा सकता है और कुछ मामलों में अस्थायी या दीर्घकालिक दृष्टि संबंधी समस्याएँ भी पैदा कर सकता है। बच्चे इस समय अपने विकास के चरण में होते हैं, इसलिए उनके आंखें प्रदूषण के प्रति अधिक संवेदनशील होती हैं।

खुशियाँ मनाते समय कुछ साधारण सावधानियाँ लेना ज़रूरी है। बच्चों को पटाखों से सुरक्षित दूरी पर रखें, धुँए वाले भीड़भाड़ वाले इलाकों से बचाएँ और यदि आंखों में जलन या परेशानी हो तो तुरंत जाँच कराएँ।

Children are especially vulnerable because their eyes are still developing, making them more sensitive to pollutants.

While celebrating, it is important to take simple precautions. Keep children at a safe distance from firecrackers, avoid crowded smoky areas, and ensure their eyes are checked promptly if irritation or discomfort occurs.
