High blood pressure more dangerous among women than in men:

**** New research suggests that high blood pressure is potentially more dangerous for women than it is for men. The study, published in December edition of Therapeutic Advances in Cardiovascular Disease, concluded that women with hypertension need a more aggressive treatment than men with the same condition.

**** Researchers of North Carolina-based Wake Forest Baptist Medical Centre studied 100 men and women who were 53 years or older and suffered from untreated high blood pressure and no other major diseases. Tests were conducted to indicate whether it was the patient's heart or blood vessels that were causing the hypertension
