🌍 March 4th is International HPV Awareness Day! 🌍

Did you know that HPV (Human Papillomavirus) is one of the most common viral infections worldwide? While most infections clear on their own, some strains can lead to cervical, a**l, oropharyngeal, and other cancers if left undetected. The good news? HPV-related diseases are largely preventable!

🔹 HPV vaccination is safe, effective, and can prevent over 90% of HPV-related cancers.
🔹 Regular screening (like Pap smears and HPV tests) can detect early signs of disease before they become serious.
🔹 Awareness and education help us break myths, reduce stigma, and empower communities to take preventive action.

💉 Protect yourself. Protect your loved ones. Get informed, get vaccinated, and get screened. Let's work together to create a future free from HPV-related cancers!

💙 Join the movement. Share the message. Take action. 💙

🫀 World Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week 💙 (February 7-14)

Every year, thousands of babies are born with congenital heart defects (CHDs), making CHD the most common birth defect worldwide. CHDs affect nearly 1 in 100 newborns, ranging from mild to life-threatening conditions. While medical advances have improved survival rates and treatment options, raising awareness is key to early diagnosis, research, and better care.

💙 Why CHD Awareness Matters:
🔹 CHD is the leading cause of birth defect-related deaths.
🔹 Many cases are detected before birth with fetal echocardiography, allowing for early intervention.
🔹 Advances in surgery and treatment mean more CHD survivors are thriving into adulthood.
🔹 Despite its prevalence, CHD research and funding remain limited.

💪 How You Can Help:
✅ Spread Awareness – Share CHD facts to educate others.
✅ Support CHD Families – Many children and adults face lifelong challenges.
✅ Advocate for Research – More funding means better treatments and outcomes.

To all the CHD warriors, survivors, and families—your strength inspires us every day. This week, we honor your resilience and fight for a future with better care, earlier detection, and increased awareness. Every heartbeat matters. 💙

Let's talk about the Growth and Color Doppler Scan in pregnancy👶🤰

Growth scan helps measure the size of the baby, amount of amniotic fluid, position of the baby inside the mother's womb, baby's movements and rule out late onset abnormalities in the developing baby's organs.

A Doppler scan on the other hand helps assess the pattern of blood flow in the baby's umbilical cord, brain and liver ensuring a good supply of oxygen and nutrients to the developing baby.

This scan can be done anytime after 28 weeks and up to 40 weeks.

A Growth and Doppler scan is a great tool to ensure the wellbeing of the baby in the mother's womb during third trimester.

Stay informed. Stay healthy.

Infants are more vulnerable to severe flu. When you get your flu shot during pregnancy, you pass on protective antibodies, keeping your infant safe after birth until they’re old enough for their own vaccines. Talk with your ob-gyn about getting vaccinated! Learn more: bit.ly/3TgU4S7
