Since its time to celebrate Makar Sankranti and I am sure everyone is excited we all are ready with our kites and manjhas after all its the only day when everyone in the family comes up together and enjoy kite flying ceremony. But we forget that The growing use of glass-coated and in particular non biodegradable Chinese manjha (kite string) – made of metallic/nylon yarn with an abrasive coat of crushed glass glued onto it – has made things worse. Birds cannot see this fine string while flying and thousands of them get tangled up and injured or killed during the festival each year. Also, after the kite flying is done, coils of this sharp manjha are found hanging on trees and lampposts: a hazard for birds and people alike. Its my humble request to everyone kindly use the indian cotton manjha's. And kite flying could be done before or after dawn and dusk- a time when birds are most active. Don't play with lives of birds on the name of festivals. We are humans coz we have humanity please keep it alive!

Some things just fill your heart without trying....
show some love to street dogs this winter. Whenever you see any street dog sleeping in cold kindly provide them with a blanket or a jute bag, they can't thank you in words but they will definitely be pleased and give you blessings. Small acts of kindness makes this world less devilish place for poor animals.
