✨ A Drop for Humanity ✨
On 1st November 2025, the Dept. of Clinical Haematology & Blood Bank, in collaboration with New Swan Group, organized a blood donation camp at New Swan enterprises Unit - 2, that reminded us how powerful a single act of kindness can be.

🩸 Every donor today became a lifeline — for cancer patients, emergency cases, and those fighting critical illnesses. Your one drop can give someone another chance at life.

If you’ve never donated before, let this be your sign.
If you have donated, thank you — and we hope you’ll continue.
Because someone, somewhere, is waiting for your drop of humanity. ❤

Join us in creating a stronger, healthier community.
Come forward. Donate blood. Save lives.

🌟 Free HLA Typing Camp & Awareness Session on Stem Cell Transplantation 🌟

On 2nd September 2025, a Free HLA Typing Camp & Awareness Session was held at Aggarwal Bhawan, Tohana (Haryana), jointly organized by CMC Ludhiana (Dept. of Clinical Haematology & BMT) and Manav Sewa Sangam Hospital & Blood Bank Tohana.

👨‍⚕️ The sessions featured insightful talks by:

Dr. John Abraham (CMC Ludhiana) – on Comprehensive Care & Evaluation in Thalassemia.

Dr. M. Joseph John (Prof. & Head, CMC Ludhiana) – on Basics of Stem Cell Transplantation.

💡 Dr. Joseph John emphasized that stem cell transplant is a curative option for thalassemia—offering children freedom from lifelong transfusions. He shared how, through govt. schemes like the Thalassaemia Bal Sewa Yojana and collaborations with partners like DKMS, Tata Trust, Vardhman, Pahuja Trust, and others, the cost of transplants can be reduced to almost free for patients from Punjab.

✨ The highlight of the day was a moving testimony from a young thalassemia survivor from Tohana, who underwent a successful bone marrow transplant at CMC Ludhiana. His journey brought hope and courage to many families present.

💉 A key camp activity was Free HLA Typing in collaboration with DKMS, enabling 12 patients to undergo testing—an essential first step toward transplantation.

🙏 The event reaffirmed the joint commitment of CMC Ludhiana, MSSH Tohana, and partners to work towards a thalassemia-free Punjab through awareness, early testing, and access to curative treatment.
