On this Independence day 🇮🇳, celebrating freedom from Obesity & multiple associated diseases.

Glad to share our exceptional team created a record in operating the heaviest patient in Punjab state EVER!

A 256 kg patient, with a BMI of 80 kg/m2 , had severe sleep apnea, diabetes, hypertension, F2 liver fibrosis, and severe backache, making him bedridden for past 1 year.

Intra-operatively we faced many challenges, very very heavy and bulky liver, heavy Falciform ligament forming a complete curtain and very less intra- abdominal space.

The patient had an uneventful recovery, started walking 6 hrs after surgery and was heartwarming to see him do that.

He came to us yesterday for a follow-up, doing well, and lost 10 kgs in 7 days. His sleep apnea is much better and diabetes and hypertension are under control.
