Practicing yoga has changed the way I move through life. It taught me to breathe through discomfort, to let go of what I can’t control, and to find peace in the present moment. On the mat, I learned patience. Off the mat, I learned compassion. Yoga has become less about perfect poses and more about learning to trust myself.

In physiology and yoga, the calf muscles are often called the “second heart” because they help pump blood from the legs back up to the heart.

When your calf muscles contract (while walking, stretching, lifting your heels), they push the blood upward, preventing:

✔ Swelling in legs
✔ Varicose veins
✔ Poor circulation
✔ Fatigue
✔ Heavy legs

So when we keep our calves active, we support our actual heart’s circulation.
