DMC&H, Ludhiana, has successfully performed a highly complex laparoscopic radical cystectomy on a 60-year-old male patient recently diagnosed with carcinoma of the urinary bladder. The surgery was carried out by Dr. Arvind Goyal, Professor, Department of Urology, DMC&H, marking a significant advancement in the hospital’s ongoing efforts to bring state-of-the-art cancer treatment to patients across Punjab and the region.

The patient, who presented with high-grade infiltrating bladder cancer, underwent a thorough evaluation by Dr. Goyal and his team before being considered for the procedure. Laparoscopic radical cystectomy, recognized as the gold standard in the management of advanced bladder tumors, was chosen as the most effective course of treatment. The surgery was executed with precision, ensuring complete removal of cancerous tissue while minimizing trauma to surrounding organs. Post-surgery, the patient has shown stable recovery and encouraging signs for long-term disease control.

Speaking on this, Shri Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMCH Managing Society, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Department of Urology for performing such a complex surgery with remarkable success. He highlighted that DMCH has always been at the forefront of adopting advanced medical techniques and investing in clinical expertise to ensure the highest standard of patient care.

The Department of Urology DMC&H Ludhiana, has achieved a significant medical milestone under the leadership of Dr. Arvind Goyal, Professor Urology, by successfully performing a pe**le implant surgery on a patient with severe injury to male sexual organ.

The patient, Mr. Harbir (name changed), had sustained extensive damage to his phallus following an unfortunate high-voltage electrocution accident at the age of 14. The injury had caused irreversible functional loss, leading to severe physical and psychological trauma. At the age of 20 his p***s was reconstructed after taking skin and fat from the forearm followed by urethroplasty (reconstruction of urine pipe).

The surgery involved meticulous planning, advanced surgical techniques, and careful rehabilitation measures. Pe**le reconstruction is a vital medical intervention for patients who have suffered traumatic injuries.A pe**le implant is often the final, and most successful, step in a long journey for many patient.

Dr. Arvind Goyal, highlighted that this transformative journey allows the individual to regain urinary function, sexual health, and a sense of normalcy and confidence.
