मुझे कुम्हार ने चक्कर में डाल रखा है.............

I still remember when I was in college, 4th prof, Dinu sir did his workshop at our college.
I just asked a few questions after the session & after a few months I got to know sir had asked Yogesh sir and Harpreet sir to guide me, as he saw potential in me. For many years, no matter how many distractions I have faced in the name of illness/responsibilities, they have shown confidence in me.
This month, Sudesh sir's workshop at McLeodganj was again an emotional highlight. He gave a different brooch to a few of us, saying: "If I die, Please water my plants."
The question remains:

🍃Antibiotics are specifically designed to treat bacterial infections, not viral infections like the common cold.
Taking antibiotics unnecessarily for a cold can lead to antibiotic resistance and unwanted side effects.

In cases of the common cold, antibiotics are only considered if there is a secondary bacterial infection (which your doctor will diagnose).

Pro Tip :-
If you are prescribed an antibiotic, remember to take a probiotic supplement alongside it. This helps maintain your gut health and can prevent common side effects like antibiotic-associated diarrhea.

Lastly, focus on building and maintaining strong immunity through a balanced diet, proper hydration, regular exercise, and adequate sleep. A healthy immune system is your body’s best defense against external threats , whether they’re bacteria, viruses, or parasites.

🍃In India , it's a common practice to feed Honey "gudti" to newborn to prevent Hypoglycemia after birth.
Honey should not be given to newborns or infants under one year of age due to the risk of botulism.

🍃Honey can contain spores of the bacterium "Clostridium botulinum"
These spores are typically harmless to older children and adults because their mature digestive systems can handle them.
🍃 Immature Digestive System - Newborns and infants have immature digestive systems that may not be able to destroy these spores. When ingested, the spores can germinate and produce botulinum toxin in the baby's intestines.

🍃Botulinum Toxin - Serious Condition - The toxin produced by "Clostridium botulinum" can cause a serious condition called infant botulism.

🍃Symptoms of infant botulism include constipation, general weakness, weak cry, poor feeding, and lethargy. In severe cases, it can lead to respiratory failure.

🍃Preventive Measures:
Avoid Honey - To prevent infant botulism, it is recommended that honey should not be given to infants under one year of age.
Check Ingredients - Be mindful of foods that may contain honey as an ingredient, such as some cereals, baked goods, or processed foods.

🍃Alternatives for Sweetening:
The ideal way to prevent Hypoglycemia in newborn is dextrose feed after stomach wash in the nursary unit of the paediatric department in the hospital immediately after birth.
Natural Fruits - Use pureed fruits like bananas or applesauce to naturally sweeten foods for infants.

🍃Breast Milk or Formula - Continue using breast milk or formula as the primary source of nutrition for infants under one year.
