What is Urinary Incontinence?
Urinary incontinence is the loss of bladder control, leading to involuntary urine leakage. It can range from occasional leaks when coughing or sneezing to a strong, sudden urge to urinate that is difficult to control. This condition is more common in older adults but can affect people of all ages due to various factors like pregnancy, menopause, obesity, or neurological disorders.
Types of Urinary Incontinence:
• Stress Incontinence – Leakage due to pressure on the bladder (e.g., coughing, sneezing, laughing).
• Urge Incontinence – A sudden, intense urge to urinate, often linked to overactive bladder.
• Overflow Incontinence – Inability to empty the bladder completely, leading to dribbling.
• Functional Incontinence – Physical or mental impairments preventing timely restroom access.
• Mixed Incontinence – A combination of different types of incontinence.
