My AI Journey and a Glimpse into the Future
AI is not just about chatbots and generating text; it's about solving critical problems and improving lives.
It's amazing how much the conversation around Artificial Intelligence (AI) has exploded lately. We're constantly bombarded with terms like Chat Grok, GPT, Copilot, Gemini, and the list goes on! It's a whirlwind of innovation, and it's fascinating to witness.
But for me, this isn't a completely new landscape. My journey into the world of AI began much earlier, in February 2000, when I took my first training from the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Non-Linear Studies. Looking back, it feels like a lifetime ago.
I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Dr. Rajah Vijay Kumar, a truly remarkable serial inventor. His vision and pioneering work have had a profound impact on my understanding of life, and our potential to help other.
In fact, we're currently utilizing two of his groundbreaking inventions that are making a real difference in people's lives:
• CCG (Cardiovascular Cartography): This technology enables heart flow mapping without the need for invasive procedures – some call it non-invasive angiogram, I prefer calling it a pre-angiography test. It's a game-changer for detecting heart disease years before it manifests as a heart attack. Imagine the lives that can be saved through early detection!
• Cytotron: This invention is providing relief to individuals suffering from a range of conditions, including knee and other joint arthritis pain and cancer palliation. In future we visualize it helping in Parkinson's disease, autism, and more. It's truly remarkable to witness the positive impact it has on patients' quality of life.
The current wave of AI development, with its focus on large language models and generative AI, is opening up new possibilities we couldn't have imagined just a few years ago. But, it is also important to remember the real world applications of AI that are already in use, and have been for years.
The future of AI is bright, and I'm excited to see what new innovations and applications emerge. From early detection of diseases to personalized therapies, the potential to transform healthcare, and many other fields, is immense.
Let's continue to explore the possibilities of AI and ensure that it's used for the betterment of society.
Thank you, and have a wonderful day!
