๐ฟ CME on Evidence-Based Nutrition at AIIMS Madurai! ๐ฟ
Under the guidance of Executive Director Prof. (Dr.) M. Hanumatha Rao, the Department of Physiology at AIIMS Madurai, in association with the Physicians Association for Nutrition (PAN India), organized a CME on "Evidence-Based Nutrition Intervention in Clinical Practice" on June 21, 2024, to commemorate the International Day of Yoga. The event saw active participation from all faculties, residents, and students of AIIMS Madurai.
Dr. Rajeena Shahin, Medical Director of PAN India, kicked off the CME with an insightful introduction to PAN India and the importance of evidence-based nutrition intervention in clinical practice. ๐ฑ Dr. K. Rojaramani, Professor of Surgery at SV Medical College, Tirupathi, enlightened us on "Nutrition in Pregnancy and Lactation." ๐ผ Dr. G. Rajendiran, Professor and Head of Preventive Cardiology at PSGIMSR, Coimbatore, shared his expertise on "Plant-Based Diet: The Future of CVD." ๐ฅ Dr. V. Vanajakshamma, Professor of Cardiology at SVIMS, Tirupathi, delved into the benefits of the "Yogic Diet." ๐งโโ๏ธ
Participants enjoyed delicious plant-based snacks and lunch provided by PAN India, which were highly appreciated. ๐ฝ๏ธ Following lunch, an engaging panel discussion on "Diet and Nutrition" featured PAN representatives and faculties from various clinical departments.
The Department of Physiology, AIIMS Madurai, extends heartfelt thanks to PAN India for funding the event and emphasizing the importance of evidence-based nutrition intervention in clinical practice and the significance of a plant-based diet. The event was highly interactive and well-received by everyone.
