Corticobasal implants are implants which are osseo-fixated in cortical bone areas with the intention to use them in an immediate loading protocol.

These implants can be used in situations where conventional implants cannot be used like bone deficient situations, to avoid grafting, immediate loading, systemic problems etc.

Here we have rehabilitated a patient with corticobasal implants, and immediately loaded with permanent zirconia crowns in just 72 hours.

Facial fractures are common with road traffic accidents (RTA).
This patient reported with history of RTA and on examination patient presented with fracture of Orbito Zygomatico Maxillary complex fracture (Fronto-zygomatic fracture + Infra-orbital rim fracture + Lateral nasal wall fracture + Zygomatic butress fracture). The fractures were managed through fixation with titanium mini plates and screws under General anesthesia.

Fixation of Lateral nasal wall, Infra orbital rim and Zygomatic butress was done through intra oral KEEN's approach.

Fixation of the FZ suture was done through lateral eye brow approach.

Surgical removal of impacted 48 tooth and extraction of 18 with severe dilaceration done under LA. 👍🏻

Dilaceration is a developmental disturbance in shape of teeth. It refers to an angulation, or a sharp bend or curve, in the root or crown of a formed tooth.

Dilaceration poses difficulty in treating the tooth endodontically or during removal of the tooth. The root tends to fracture often along the sharp angulation of the root curvature or the curvature gives very strong resistance to luxating and moving the tooth out.

When a deciduous canine tooth fails to shed at the right time and the position of the permanent canine is abnormal the permanent canine becomes impacted.

An impacted canine can lead to the formation of a cyst — a fluid-filled sac that forms in the jawbone. A small cyst might not cause any problems. A larger one, on the other hand, can cause swelling, tooth sensitivity and may also become infected.

It may also lead to the resorption of the root of adjacent teeth or may also cause displacement of the adjacent teeth.

It is advisable to get the impacted canine tooth removed before opting for orthodontic correction of the mal-aligned teeth.

In this case the surgical removal of the impacted canine which was in close proximity to nasal floor and maxillary sinus was done under Local anaesthesia 👍🏻

Patient wanted replacement of edentulous 45 region with implant prosthesis. Patient presented with deficient bone at the implant site on investigation.

Implant placement was done in such a way to take maximum anchorage from the available remaining bone and the jumping space post implant placement was grafted with bone putty and placement of membrane was done and closure was achieved. The primary stability immediately post implant placement was 55 Ncm.👍🏻
