79th Independence Day was observed at the service projects of YMCA Madurai with great enthusiasm. Ms. J. Shamila Doris, General Secretary, YMCA Madurai warmly welcomed all the guests and the gathering. Fr. J. Benedict Barnabas, President, YMCA Madurai delivered his presidential address. Our beloved donors, Mr. K.Thirupathirajan and Mr. Pichaimuthu were invited as chief guests at the School for the Intellectualy Disabled and the Playschool and Study Centre. They hoisted the National flag and shared their heartfelt independence day wishes with the children. Mr.Nirmal Raj and Mrs.Nirmala, our donors hoisted the National Flag at the YMCA Boys' Home, Alagappan Nagar. We extend our sincere thanks to Mr. Manikandan for generously donating gifts for the children of the YMCA Play School.

World Environment Day was observed at the YMCA Play School. Children learned to make paper bags and were encouraged to use cloth bags instead of using plastic bags. They also gained awareness about protecting nature and keeping their environment clean.
