Harpic a common household toilet cleaner whose main ingredient is Hydrochloric Acid is a corrosive poison. When ingested it causes severe burns (Ulcers) in the mouth, food pipe & abdomen. Other than this its fumes when inhaled can cause severe pulmonary oedema (Pneumonia). So it can cause metabolic as well as respiratory poisoning.
