Client diaries: Here is Mrs Saraswati Kalwani who suffered from frozen shoulder during the pandemic and wasn’t able to seek treatment early on due to the lockdown. Frozen shoulder ( known as adhesive capsulitis) is a very common problem in diabetics and also people who have kept their arm immobilized for a long period of time. Symptoms involve stiffness of the shoulder and pain.Mrs Saraswati recovered from the same problem with regular exercises and physical therapy mobilizations.

A few exercises to relieve HEEL PAIN 1)TOE STRETCH- Sit and stretch your affected leg on the floor, reach out for your toes and pull them up and back holding it for 30-60 secs. Repeat 2-4 times a day
2) TOWEL STRETCH- Place a rolled towel under the ball of your foot holding the towel ends and pull it towards yourself keeping the knee straight for 30-60 secs. Repeat it 2-4 times a day. 3)PLATAR FASCIA STRETCH- Stand on a step as shown in the image and hold something for support. Slowly let your heels down over the edge of the step feeling a stretch across the bottom of your foot and up the back of your leg. Hold it for 30-60 sec, 2-4 times a day. 4)SOLEUS STRETCH- Stand with your hands on a wall and put the leg you want to stretch few steps behind the other leg. Keeping your back heel on the floor, bend your front knee until you feel a stretch on the back leg Hold for 30-60 sec, 2-4 times a day 5)NIGHT SPLINT- It can be used for Achilles tendinopathy and plantar fascitis where it keeps the foot in a stretched position 6)TOWEL CURL- Place your foot on the towel and scrunch it towards you and away from you. To make it challenging place a weighted object on the other end of the towel. 7)MARBLE PICKUPS- Using your toes try to pick the marbles from the floor and put them in a cup

Run but don’t burn 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃‍♂️ For all you runners, joggers, and casual walkers out there, at some point you'll be burdened with foot pain. Whether chronic or acute, severe or mild, it's only a matter of time before those 2 feet you've been putting weight on all your life, start to ask for relief.
