Marked a major milestone in transfusion safety, inaugurated the Nucleic Acid Amplification Testing System (NAAT/NATS) along with an Advanced Automated Transfusion Transmissible Infections (TTI) Screening System at the Department of Transfusion Medicine and Hemotherapy on 4th April 2026, by Hon’ble Executive Director, Prof. (Dr.) Ahanthem Santa Singh.

This is the first-of-its-kind facility in Andhra Pradesh and across AIIMS institutions in South India, ensuring safer blood and faster testing for patients.

College of Nursing, AIIMS Mangalagiri, in collaboration with Breastfeeding Promotion Network of India (BPNI), successfully conducted BPNI’s 7-day Certificate Course on “Breastfeeding & Infant and Young Child Feeding Counsellors.”
This intensive 4-in-1 training strengthened competencies in breastfeeding & lactation support, complementary feeding, HIV & infant feeding & growth monitoring, with special focus on children under two.
Healthcare professionals from across India were certified as trained counsellors—an initiative made possible under the visionary leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Ahanthem Santa Singh, Executive Director, AIIMS Mangalagiri.

In his recent address, Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji rightly drew the nation’s attention to the silent global threat of Antimicrobial Resistance.

AIIMS Mangalagiri is fully aligned with the Government of India’s National Action Plan on AMR 2.0 and is working towards establishing a state-of-the-art genomic sequencing laboratory to develop an India-specific AMR database for Andhra Pradesh, said Prof. (Dr.) Ahanthem Santa Singh, Executive Director & CEO, AIIMS Mangalagiri.

He urged citizens to play their part—never self-medicate, never share and always complete the prescribed course of antibiotics.
