Awareness Program At Madeleine Pre – University College ,Mulki
A recent awareness program was successfully conducted at Madeleine Pre-University College, Mulki, under the guidance of Dr. Thunga’s Manasvini Hospital Arkula. The initiative aimed to educate students on the harmful effects of drug addiction, emphasize the significance of mental health, and equip them with practical stress management techniques.
Mrs. Shashikala B, Councellor and Coordinator for Community and Educational Services at the hospital, addressed the growing mental health concerns among today’s youth. She spoke about the confusion, anxiety, stress, and fears commonly experienced by students, and how these emotional challenges can lead to mental distress if left unaddressed.
A key highlight of her session was the alarming rise of drug abuse in the form of chocolate-shaped substances, easily accessible even at roadside shops. She explained how subtle changes in behavior, emotions, and thought patterns can be early warning signs of declining mental health.
The program saw enthusiastic participation from the school’s principal, teachers, and students. The session concluded with a call to stay informed, alert, and supportive of one another in matters of mental well-being.
