Rajiv Gandhi university of health sciences through JeevaRaksha trust, Bengaluru had organized 10 days of C-ECLS course for faculties and interns from various institutions at A J Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, Mangaluru . Senior instructors Dr Ram Krishnan Nair and Dr Vijay Bhaskar Reddy from JeevaRaksha, trained the participants. A J Research Centre organized a Guest Talk on ‘Avenues of research grant application’ by Dr Veluri Sudhakar, Member of Department of Science & Technology Review Committee for Bio-Medical Devices in India on 11th February 2021. The talk was open to all faculties and students from Lakshmi Memorial Education Trust, who are actively involved in research. The event was followed by one on one interaction between faculties and speaker.

Faculty Training Programme on “Simulation Based Medical Education “

A J Skill and Simulation Centre had organised one day faculty training programme on “Simulation Based Medical Education” by Dr Lulu Sherif, on 5th February 2021, Friday at Seminar Hall, AJSSC .
This was a part of faculty development programme in Skill and Simulations. National Medical Commission (NMC) has emphasised on Competency Based Medical education(CBME) in its Graduate medical Education Regulations (2019) and skill acquisition is a major element of GMER.

Topics and Contents :

10.00am - 10.15am –
Introduction / Ice breaking and pre test

10.15am – 11.30am – Overview of healthcare Simulation education and curriculum integration.

11.45am – 01.00pm- Designing a Simulation and creating an effective story board.

02.00pm-04.00 pm- Implementing a Simulated clinical experience.

Faculty trainer: Dr Lulu Sherif Mahmood is a Professor in Anaesthesiology, Head of Simulation Centre, Quality manager in Hospital training and Training Centre Co-ordinator for American Heart Association courses in Father Muller’s Medical College, Mangaluru. Her enormous experience and expertise in the Simulations and teachings were reflected throughout the day in all the sessions. Participants have shown overwhelming response through interactions with Dr Lulu Sherif and her motivating sessions.

Participants: Programme was well attended. 35 faculty representatives from all the departments in A J Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre , A J Institute of Dental Sciences, Laxmi Memorial College of Nursing, Laxmi Memorial College of Physiotherapy and A J Institute of Allied Health Sciences have attended the training programme. Faculty training programme was o-ordinated by the Chief Co-ordinator, Dr Sharath Kumar K and team of A J Skill and Simulation Centre.
