Atisthaulya or Obesity in Ayurveda is described as an excessive accumulation of Medha or fat and Mamsa or flesh leading to health complications and reduced life expectancy❌
According to Ayurveda, weight gain is a cyclical process🔄 Improper food and lifestyle choices hampers one’s Agni🔥 which in turn hampers the Ama or toxin levels causing a reduced functionality of the Kapha thereby increasing the Medha or Fat content.
The Ayurvedic Way of treating obesity is holistic, focusing on not just reducing weight but also adjusting metabolic processes through comprehensive lifestyle changes, self awareness practices, activity modifications along with an alternative diet🥗
We at Arpana Ayurveda welcome everyone to benefit from our all natural and holistic weight loss program to lead a long and healthy life!🌿❤️

Wondering if size doesn’t matter or that weight is just a number?
It is true that the number on the scales does not tell the whole story of your health. However, body weight is correlated to the risk of various diseases such as heart disease, stroke and diabetes.
Even if you have normal levels of Blood pressure, Blood sugar and Cholesterol, simply being overweight increases your risk of heart disease by almost 30%
We believe no one should be bullied for their weight, but suggesting that size 30 is just as healthy as size 12 is an irresponsible form of denial🙅
Your body is your business, but encouraging unhealthy lifestyle choices and denying health risks isn’t promoting body positivity🪷

Texts on Ayurveda say that psoriasis arises due to an imbalance of two “doshas,” or areas of energy⚡
Practitioners of Ayurvedic medicine call these the “Vata”🌬️ and “Kapha"🌊
Kapha controls the growth in the body. Vata is the dosha responsible for controlling bodily functions and could contribute to the dryness and skin scaling of psoriasis

Psoriasis affects 0.44 to 2.8% of the Indian population, and is twice more common in males than females🚻
It is an immune mediated disease that causes raised, scaly patches on the skin due to inflammation🔥
Psoriasis is the result of a sped-up skin production process. Typically, skin cells grow deep in your skin and slowly rise to the surface. Eventually, they fall off. The typical life cycle of a skin cell is 1 month.
In people with psoriasis, this production process may occur in just a few days. As a result, there is a build up of skin cells and scaling may develop anywhere on the body.
It is important to note that the condition is not contagious😷

According to Ayurveda, menstrual blood or rajah is a by-product of lymph or rasa dhatu. Our rasa is affected by what and how we consume. With a healthy cycle, blood will be bright red in color, and bleeding lasts around 5 days. It has no foul odor and the quantity is not too great nor too little. Any other discharge, pain, mood swings, cravings or heavy bleeding are signs of an imbalance. Imbalances will be caused by an excess of any particular dosha🍃🌊🔥.

Ayurvedic treatment for PCOS typically focuses on: herbs, such as ashwagandha and turmeric🌿, therapies such as yoga and breathing exercises🧘, lifestyle changes such as increasing consumption of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains🌾🥕 while reducing consumption of saturated fats, salt, and refined sugar. 🍬
When we surrender, we’re able to let go of all that no longer serves us and start again - brighter and stronger.💪

PITTA🔥💧
Pitta comes from the root word Tapa which means ‘to heat’
Pitta Dosha is based on the elements of fire and water.🔥🌊
An excessive amount of alcohol, greasy, and spicy foods can throw the Pitta out of balance causing heartburn and inflammation.
Consuming cooling foods and practicing Yoga and meditation helps to pacify one’s Pitta.🧘

KAPHA 🍃🌊
This Dosha’s elemental make up comprises of water and earth. 💧🌏
Do you wake up in the mornings feeling unmotivated and stressed? This could be a sign of an unbalanced Kapha Dosha.
Having a sedentary life with no exercise and eating heavy dense foods can contribute to Kapha imbalance.
Embracing foods that have Kapha qualities like fruits and vegetables, incorporating more physical activity to stimulate your senses can help bring an equilibrium to your Dosha.🥗

VATA💨🍃
The king of all Doshas, Vata Dosha is based on the elements of air and ether.
Vata, which means wind, is associated with flow and movement in the body.
It governs circulation, respiration and movement of muscles. Without the Vata, Pitta and Kapha are inert.
An elevated Vata makes you erratic, anxious and causes digestive problems.🤢
Eating salty, sweet and warm spices helps to balance out this Dosha➕
