A free medical camp was organized and conducted by Sharada Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Talapady, Mangalore, in association with Shree Rama Yuvaka Mandala, Kubanoor, and Jagadguru Shree Nithyananda Mahapeetam Charitable Trust, Kondevooru, on Sunday, 17th August 2025, at Shri Rama A.U.P. School, Kubanoor.

The camp was inaugurated in the presence of Shri Ramesh Acharya, President of Shree Rama Yuvaka Mandala; Dr. Gopinathan, Medical Officer at District Ayurveda Hospital, Kannur; and Smt. Nirmala Alva, Headmistress of Shri Rama A.U.P. School, Kubanoor.

Around 100 patients attended the camp with various ailments and availed themselves of free consultation and medicines. Dr. Ganesh Naik and Dr. Harsha served as the chief consultants.

Interns, pharmacy staff, and other hospital staff also actively participated in making the camp a success.

The Student Support, Career Guidance, and Placement Cell organized a guest talk on “How an MPH Programme after BAMS Will Change Your Life” by Dr. Edmond Fernandes, Professor & HOD of Public Health, Yenepoya Deemed to be University, Mangaluru on 13/8/2025 from 3 to 4 pm.

Interns and 3rd Professional BAMS students attended the session, which provided valuable insights into the MPH course structure, placement prospects, and diverse career pathways. The talk also explored opportunities for transitioning into roles such as epidemiologist, biostatistician, scientist, and other related fields.

World Breastfeeding Week Celebration

World Breastfeeding Week was celebrated at Sharada Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital on 9th August. The theme for this year was “Prioritize Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems.”

The Departments of Kaumarabhritya and Prasuti Ta**ra & Stree Roga, in collaboration with the NSS unit, organized a Debate and an Impromptu Speech competition for students. The aim was to create awareness about breastfeeding and the support systems needed to promote it.

Students participated actively, and prizes were awarded to the winners.

On August 5, 2025, the Department of Dravyaguna Vigyan at Sharada Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Devinagara, hosted a hands-on workshop on Ayurvedic plant identification. On Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Shree Nithyananda Yogashrama, Kondevoot Mutt, an awareness programme was held on the occasion of Medicinal Porridge distribution during the Karkataka month. Dr. Sandeep Bekal addressed the gathering by highlighting the importance of following a proper diet in daily life. As part of National Ayurveda Day, second-year senior students of Sharada Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital created awareness on the concept of Dinacharya, emphasizing the benefits of maintaining a daily Ayurvedic routine. Interns, with the help of models, explained various Panchakarma therapies. A large number of attendees visited our Dinacharya and Panchakarma explanation stalls and showed keen interest in learning about the practices. Dr. Annette, Dr Anup and Ms. Shradha actively participated by encouraging the public to adopt and enroll in Dinacharya practices. The programme received enthusiastic participation and effectively spread awareness about holistic health through Ayurveda. Photos from the event are attached for reference.

Guest Talk and RIEDC Library Inauguration
Organised by RIEDC, Sharada Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Devinagara, Talapady, Mangaluru.

The Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Cell (RIEDC) of Sharada Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital, Devinagara, Talapady, Mangaluru, successfully organized a guest talk session on 25/07/2025 to encourage and educate students on the fundamentals of entrepreneurship.

The session featured an engaging and insightful address by Mr. Shivakiran, who interacted with the entrepreneurship enthusiasts of the college. He shared the basics of startups, guiding the students through the initial steps of entrepreneurial ventures, common challenges, and the mindset required to innovate and lead.

Prior to the session, Mr. Shivakiran inaugurated the RIEDC Library, which aims to provide students with resources and reading material related to research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The library is expected to serve as a valuable asset in nurturing a culture of innovation within the institution.

A free health camp was conducted on 26.07.2025 at Jana Shikshana trust, Mudipu.

The health camp was headed by Dr. Shyam Prasad and Dr. Ashwini Marathe, who served as the chief consultants. Patients were also provided with the required service by Physiotherapist Dr Divyashree. A total of 42 individuals availed the medical services provided, which included consultations, basic health check-ups, medicines & guidance on maintaining overall well-being.
