പൊതുവേ കേള്‍ക്കുന്നതാണിത്.
വീട്ടമ്മമാര്‍, ഐ ടീ ജോലിക്കാര്‍ , മൊബൈൽ ഫോൺ കൂടുതൽ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നവര്‍ തുടങ്ങി ഏതുപ്രായക്കാര്‍ക്കും ഏതു തരക്കാര്‍ക്കും ഒരുപോലെ ഉണ്ടാകുന്നതാണ് കഴുത്തുവേദന ഒരേ പൊസിഷനില്‍ തന്നെ അധികം സമയം ഇരിക്കുന്നതും ഇരിക്കുന്ന പൊസിഷന്‍ ശരിയല്ലാത്ത രീതിയിലാവുന്നതും കഴുത്ത് വേദനക്ക് കാരണമാകുന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെ ശരിയല്ലാത്ത ഇരുപ്പ് കൊണ്ട് കഴുത്തിന്റെ എല്ലുകള്‍ക്കും ചുറ്റുമുള്ള പേശികള്‍ക്കും അമിത സമ്മര്‍ദ്ദം, ബലക്ഷയം സംഭവിക്കാം.

സെര്‍വിക്കല്‍ സ്‌പോണ്ടിലോസിസ് എന്ന രോഗമാണ് കഴുത്തുവേദനയ്ക്ക് കാരണമായേക്കാവുന്ന അടുത്ത പ്രധാനപ്പെട്ട കാരണം. കഴുത്തിലെ കശേരുക്കള്‍ക്കിടയിലെ ഡിസ്‌ക് റീഹൈഡ്രേറ്റഡ് ആകാത്തതു മൂലം അതിന്റെ ഘടനയില്‍ വ്യത്യാസം സംഭവിക്കുന്നു. ഈ മാറ്റം കശേരുക്കളുടെ ആകൃതിയിലും വ്യത്യാസങ്ങള്‍ വരുത്തുന്നു. ഇത് കശേരുക്കള്‍ക്കിടയിലൂടെ വരുന്ന നാഡികള്‍ക്ക് ഞെരുക്കം ഉണ്ടാകാന്‍ ഇടയാക്കുന്നു. അതുവഴി ആ നാഡിയുടെ വേരില്‍ തരിപ്പ്, വേദന, പുകച്ചില്‍ മുതലായവ ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു.
