PCOS and the foods that one can eat series
Our kitchen can be a little mini pharmacy.
A lot of good can happen with simple ingredients.

The Indian gooseberry or amla is one superfood in nature's bounty. It is loaded with so many benefits.
1)Promotes and enhances immunity.
2)Antioxidant
3)Helps digestion and metabolism
4)Balances the digestive fire
5)It promotes rejuvenation ,sexual and reproductive health and energy.
6) Beneficial to the circulatory and respiratory system.

There are many ways one can consume the amla fruit. I tried a particular preservation method in summer.

Process
Steam the fruit,deseed it,cut into slices and put in a bowl. Add jaggery to it and keep for 3 days in a glass container or bowl. On the fourth day remove the slices only from the melted jaggery and lay it on a butter paper to dry in direct sunlight. The pieces dry in 3days.Store in a clean and dry glass jar and munch on 4_5pieces everyday in the monsoons.

Reviving traditional Herbal Medicine
Was invited as a resource person to speak on the topic of Traditional Herbal Medicine.
The talk is a run up to the 33rd Plant Festival of the Green Heritage Eco club of SFX High School. A school I am an alumni of .
Students from 15 schools learnt about the traditional use of some of the basic long forgotten herbs in the garden .
Learnt how to prepare powders, tablets ,hair oil .
Food is medicine -our local Goan hyperlical and seasonal food is also medicine.
Fyi I am the second generation of this plant festival.
