🌸 Glorification & Life History of Śrīla Prabhupāda 🌸
✨ Early Life
Born: 1st September 1896 (Nandotsava day, the day after Janmāṣṭamī) in Kolkata, India.
Given the name Abhay Charan De, meaning “one who is fearless, having taken shelter of the lotus feet of the Lord.”
From childhood, he showed deep devotion to Kṛṣṇa—organizing Ratha-yātrās, worshipping Deities, and associating with devotees.
✨ Meeting His Spiritual Master
In 1922, he met his eternal spiritual master, Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura, who instructed him: “Preach Kṛṣṇa consciousness in the English language to the Western world.”
This instruction became the guiding force of his entire life.
✨ Family & Preparation
He married and had children, worked as a businessman, but never forgot his guru’s instruction.
Later, he accepted vānaprastha (retired life) and then took sannyāsa (renounced order) in 1959, dedicating himself fully to spreading Lord Caitanya’s mission.
He began translating and publishing devotional magazines and books, especially the Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam.
✨ Journey to the West
In 1965, at the age of 69, he boarded a cargo ship, Jaladuta, with only 40 rupees and a trunk of books.
He suffered two heart attacks during the voyage, but with Kṛṣṇa’s protection, he safely reached America.
✨ ISKCON & Worldwide Movement
In 1966, in New York City, he founded the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).
Through kīrtana, prasādam, philosophy, and personal example, he inspired the youth of the West.
He established over 108 temples worldwide, including the grand projects of Māyāpur, Vṛndāvana, Mumbai, and many more.
He translated and published over 70 volumes of transcendental literature, including Bhagavad-gītā As It Is, Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (18,000 verses), and Śrī Caitanya-caritāmṛta.
✨ Departure
Śrīla Prabhupāda departed from this world on 14th November 1977 in Vṛndāvana, at the lotus feet of Śrī Śrī Rādhā-Śyāmasundara.
His samādhi mandir in Śrīdhāma Vṛndāvana is a sacred place of pilgrimage.

🌺 Glorification
Śrīla Prabhupāda is the Jagat-guru, spiritual teacher of the whole world. He is the commander-in-chief devotee foretold by Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu. By his compassion, the holy name of Kṛṣṇa is now being chanted in every town and village.
On this blessed day of his appearance, we offer our deepest gratitude:
> “Śrīla Prabhupāda, you are the eternal captain of the ship of ISKCON, carrying us across the ocean of material suffering. Whatever little Kṛṣṇa consciousness we have is only by your causeless mercy. May we always serve your mission with humility, dedication, and love.”

🌸 শ্রীল প্রভুপাদ: জীবনকথা ও মহিমা 🌸
✨ শৈশব
জন্ম: ১লা সেপ্টেম্বর ১৮৯৬ সালে, কলকাতায়, নন্দোৎসবের দিন (শ্রীকৃষ্ণ জন্মাষ্টমীর পরদিন)।
নাম রাখা হয় অভয় চরণ দে – অর্থাৎ যিনি ভগবানের চরণে আশ্রয় নিয়ে নির্ভয় হয়েছেন।
ছোটবেলা থেকেই ভক্তি-ভাব প্রবল ছিল—নিজে ছোট রথযাত্রা আয়োজন করতেন, পূজা করতেন, এবং ভক্তদের সঙ্গ পেতেন।
✨ গুরুদর্শন
১৯২২ সালে, প্রথমবার সাক্ষাৎ করেন তাঁর চিরন্তন গুরু শ্রীল ভক্তিসিদ্ধান্ত সরস্বতী ঠাকুর-এর সঙ্গে।
গুরু মহারাজের আদেশ পান: “তুমি ইংরেজি ভাষায় পাশ্চাত্যে কৃষ্ণভাবনামৃত প্রচার কর।”
এই নির্দেশই তাঁর সমগ্র জীবনের লক্ষ্য হয়ে দাঁড়ায়।
✨ সংসার ও প্রস্তুতি
তিনি বিবাহিত জীবন কাটিয়েছেন, ব্যবসাও করেছেন, কিন্তু গুরুদেবের আদেশ কোনোদিন ভুলে যাননি।
পরে তিনি বনপ্রস্থ গ্রহণ করেন এবং ১৯৫৯ সালে সন্ন্যাস গ্রহণ করেন।
তখন থেকেই তিনি গীতা ও ভাগবত অনুবাদ ও প্রকাশনায় মন দেন।
✨ পাশ্চাত্যে যাত্রা
১৯৬৫ সালে, বয়স প্রায় ৬৯ বছর, তিনি জলদূত নামক কার্গো জাহাজে আমেরিকা যাত্রা করেন।
সঙ্গে ছিল মাত্র ৪০ টাকা ও কয়েকটা গ্রন্থ।
ভ্রমণের পথে দু’বার হার্ট অ্যাটাক হয়, কিন্তু কৃষ্ণ তাঁকে রক্ষা করেন।
✨ ইসকন প্রতিষ্ঠা
১৯৬৬ সালে, নিউইয়র্কে প্রতিষ্ঠা করেন ইন্টারন্যাশনাল সোসাইটি ফর কৃষ্ণ কনশাসনেস (ISKCON)।
তিনি তরুণদের কীর্তন, প্রসাদ, শাস্ত্র ও প্রেম দিয়ে অনুপ্রাণিত করেন।
সারা বিশ্বে তিনি ১০৮টিরও বেশি মন্দির স্থাপন করেন।
তিনি ৭০টিরও বেশি গ্রন্থ রচনা ও অনুবাদ করেন, যেমন ভগবদ্গীতা যেমন আছে, শ্রীমদ্ ভাগবতম্, এবং শ্রীচৈতন্য চরিতামৃত।
✨ অন্তিম লীলা
১৯৭৭ সালের ১৪ই নভেম্বর, বৃন্দাবনে, শ্রীশ্রী রাধাশ্যামসুন্দর জীর পদপদ্মে তিনি এই পৃথিবী ত্যাগ করেন।
বৃন্দাবনের তাঁর সমাধি-মন্দির আজও তীর্থস্থান।

🌺 মহিমা
শ্রীল প্রভুপাদই সেই সেনাপতি-ভক্ত, যাঁর আগমন চৈতন্য মহাপ্রভু ভবিষ্যৎবাণী করেছিলেন—যিনি বিশ্বজুড়ে কৃষ্ণনাম ছড়িয়ে দেবেন।
আজ তাঁর অবির্ভাব তিথিতে আমরা কৃতজ্ঞ হৃদয়ে প্রার্থনা করি:
> “হে শ্রীল প্রভুপাদ, আপনি আমাদের আধ্যাত্মিক পিতা, আপনি কৃষ্ণভাবনামৃতের জাহাজের অধিনায়ক। আপনার করুণায়ই আজ আমরা কৃষ্ণচেতনায় অল্প হলেও অগ্রসর হতে পেরেছি। চিরকাল আমরা যেন আপনার দয়ার স্মরণে থেকে আপনার সেবা করি।”
