When we conduct eye screening camps for drivers community, our main focus is to ensure them a quick hassle-free screening experience, without interrupting their transport schedule.

Understanding this, our Truckers Eye health outreach team organises eye health camps at strategic locations where the community usually gather for food and rest.

RAAHI (National Truckers Eye Health Programme)'s primary intent is to bring modern eye healthcare on the roads and make them visible and accessible for truck drivers.

We have so far addressed the vision issues of 2200 drivers on the National Highways. Much Grateful for our team's effort and executions 🙏

And here it is. On the auspicious occasion of Odia New Year, Gandhi Diagnostic Centre & Medicine Store was inaugurated in the vicinity of Rasagobindpur.

A rare case of both vision and hearing impairment.
Muralidhar Mohanta, age 80, had difficulties in both seeing and hearing.

When our outreach camp team screened Muralidhar for sight test, he was identified with a hyper-matured cataract in the right eye. To make things easy for him, Muralidhar was transported to our base hospital, where he underwent an advanced phaco-emulsification surgical technique.

The surgery was not easy due to age-related complications. But Dr. S.K. Das, being an experienced Ophthalmologist, made it a success. And today, Muralidhar can clearly see and feel objects with his eyes 🙏

We are a mission-oriented NGO eye hospital 🏥. Our mission is to eliminate avoidable blindness from the community.

FYI, Cataract is the primary cause of avoidable blindness, reaching up to 70% to 97% of blindness cases in rural areas of Odisha.

To reduce the blindness prevalence rate in North Odisha, our outreach team regularly organises Cataract screening camps.

We go into the villages, interact with the native communities, spread awareness about Cataract and how it can be treated with a minimally invasive advanced surgery.

Imagine at the peak of your old age, you are struggling with blindness - not able to see anything and living all by yourself. What can be more painful than this!!!

Dula Marandi, an 100 year old maa, who lives all alone in her small house, went through a lot in recent years due to blindness caused by Cataract.

But recently, she got successfully operated at our base hospital, and now she is no longer navigating her home by simply touch & memory.

Yes, she can see now.

Thanks to our outreach team who reached her 🙏

It's not only vision restored, but a life restored from darkness 💫
