PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders).

PANDAS, an acronym for "pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders associated with streptococcal infections," refers to a collection of disorders believed to impact certain children following streptococcal infections, including strep throat and scarlet fever. Observations have indicated that some children may experience the onset of tics, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, and various other mental and neurological symptoms subsequent to these infections; however, a definitive causal relationship has yet to be conclusively demonstrated.

(BNYS; Psychiatry) Mental Deficiency

The experience of living with cognitive challenges affects millions of families globally; however, persistent misconceptions and outdated beliefs continue to influence society's methods of supporting those impacted. The path toward understanding and addressing mental deficiencies has been lengthy and intricate, with terminology and societal attitudes evolving significantly over time. Currently, we stand at a pivotal moment where compassion, scientific insight, and social consciousness converge, presenting new hope and opportunities for individuals facing cognitive challenges. Envision a society where every person, irrespective of their cognitive capabilities, is recognized and supported. This vision is not merely an idealistic fantasy; it is an objective we are progressively approaching with each day. However, before delving into the complexities of mental deficiencies, it is essential to reflect on the progress we have made and the distance we still need to cover.

(BPT; Psychiatry) - Pharmacotherapy.

Psychoanalysis is a therapeutic approach aimed at addressing mental disorders, grounded in psychoanalytic theory that highlights the significance of unconscious mental processes, often referred to as "depth psychology." This movement emerged from the clinical insights and theoretical developments of Sigmund Freud, an Austrian psychiatrist who introduced the term psychoanalysis. In the 1890s, Freud collaborated with Josef Breuer, an Austrian physician and physiologist, conducting research on neurotic patients while they were in a hypnotic state. Their findings indicated that when patients were able to access the underlying sources of their thoughts and impulses during hypnosis, they experienced notable improvements in their conditions.
