A HYSTEROSCOPY is a medical procedure that employs a thin, telescope-like instrument, known as a hysteroscope, to visually inspect the interior of the uterus via the cervix. This procedure is utilized to investigate issues such as abnormal bleeding, or to remove polyps, submucosal myomas, or a misplaced coil. Hysteroscopy is also employed for diagnostic purposes in infertility cases and for tubal cannulation in conjunction with laparoscopy. The images below depict an endometrial polyp and a submucosal myoma that were successfully removed last week.
