Dr. Sandeep Mithal Conferred FRCS (Glasgow) by Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons
Meerut, June 17, 2025 — Dr. Sandeep Mithal, a veteran and highly respected ophthalmologist from Meerut, has been awarded the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (FRCS), Glasgow by election, recognizing his exemplary contributions to the field of ophthalmology over the past 48 years.
The honour was conferred by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, one of the oldest and most esteemed medical institutions in the world, at a formal ceremony held on June 17, 2025. The FRCS (by election) is a rare distinction, awarded to individuals of international repute whose work has significantly advanced medical science and patient care.
Dr. Mithal, founder and director of Dr. Sandeep Mithal Eye Centre, is widely regarded as a pioneer in bringing advanced eye care technology to western Uttar Pradesh. From being among the first to introduce microincision vitrectomy surgery (MIVS), active fluidics system, and markerless toric IOL implantation, Dr. Mithal has consistently worked at the forefront of innovation in ophthalmology. Over the decades, he has treated thousands of patients and mentored countless eye surgeons across the country.
