Meet Dr. Girish Datar

Dr. Girish Datar is a Qualified Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes (Fellowship Trained) in diagnosing and treating the causes of back pain and sciatica from painful degenerative conditions of the lumbar spine, particularly herniated discs, bulging discs with annular tears, Lateral & foraminal stenosis. The technique he uses has proven to be very effective in relieving both back and leg pain. Dr. Girish Datar can target and visualize the pain generator with an endoscope, using imaging as a guide& confirming the source of pain with diagnostic and therapeutic injections. He is among the first to use endoscopically guided lasers in spine in India.

The technique used by Dr. Girish Datar avoids injury to normal spinal anatomy while targeting the source of pain in Lumbar spine. The procedure continues to evolve, and is taught in the Cadaveric Workshops, Training & fellowship program directed by Dr. Girish Datar onsite at the Centre for Endoscopic Spine Surgery, Interventional Spine & Pain Management, Sushruta Hospital for Orthopaedics & Traumatology (CESS-SHOT) & Advanced learning Centre MS Ramaiah, Bangalore.Additionally, Dr. Girish Datar is a lecturer and author of many scientific publications, Scientific Meetings on Endoscopic Spine Surgery. He is a International & National Faculty on Endoscopic Spine Surgery.

Dr. Girish Datar served as the National Convener for Endoscopic Spine Surgery at the IOACON (Indian Orthopedic Association Annual Conference) 2017 &Currently Co Director of Medical Education at the International Endoscopic Therapy Spine Society (IETSS). He is on the Editorial board of International Journal of Spine Surgery & Indian Journal of Pain.

Dr. Girish Datar travels extensively Nationally & Internationally giving workshops, teaching and lecturing.
