ગોલ્ડ નિ (Gold Knee) સાંધો:

જાણવા જેવી બાબતો:

સાંધો સોનાનો બનેલો નથી હોતો પરંતુ આ પદ્ધતિમાં મેટલ ઇમ્પ્લાન્ટ પર ફિઝિકલ વેપર ડીપોઝીશન પ્રક્રિયાથી ટાઇટેનિયમ નીયોબિયમ નાઇટ્રાઇડ Titanium Niobium Nitride (TiNiN) નું કોટીંગ કરવામાં આવે છે, જેના કારણે સાંધાનો ગોલ્ડન લૂક આવે છે અને એટલે તેને ગોલ્ડ નિ (Gold Knee) સાંધો કહે છે.

ફાયદા:

ગોલ્ડન કોટીંગ સરફેસ હાર્ડનેસ ઘટાડે છે અને કોરોસન રેઝિસ્ટન્સ વધારે છે, તેથી વધુ biocompatible છે.

સાંધાની આયુષ્ય લાંબી હોય છે કારણ કે ગોલ્ડ પ્લેટેડ ઇમ્પ્લાન્ટ કૃત્રિમ સાંધાનો ઘસારો ઘટાડે છે.

મેટલ એલર્જી ધરાવતા લોકો માટે આ સાંધો વરદાન છે. કારણ કે ગોલ્ડન કોટીંગ મેટલના અણુઓને છૂટા પડતાં અટકાવે છે અને તેથી મેટલની એલર્જી અટકાવી શકાય છે.

લેબોરેટોરી માં આ સાંધાની આયુ લગભગ 30 થી 40 વર્ષ દરમ્યાન આંકવામાં આવી છે એટલે જે દર્દીની ઉમર 60 કરતા ઓછી હોય એ દર્દી ખાસ આ સાંધો નખાવી શકે.

Young 30 yrs old Male pt got accidental injury in his Right Knee 2 months back, got very bad fracture of proximal tibia. He was operated as Dual Plating of Tibia.
Pt started walking with Walker at 2 months.
May he gets complete recovery soon.
