November has been a great academic month, filled with enriching experiences and valuable connections! 🎓✨ I had the incredible opportunity to attend three national conferences as faculty, each contributing uniquely to my growth and knowledge in the field of surgery.

1. PUNSURGICON @ Amritsar - Representing the Punjab Chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), I had the honor of presenting on the promising role of Cytoreductive surgery, HIPEC, and PIPAC Surgery for Advanced Abdominal Cancers. I was thrilled to see the positive reception from a large audience and engage in meaningful discussions surrounding this critical area of treatment.

2. GIOS2024 @ PGI Chandigarh - At the inaugural conference of GI Oncology, I had the privilege to present and serve as a part of an esteemed panel working to establish national guidelines for the management of Gallbladder Cancer in India. Contributing to such significant work is both humbling and exciting!

3. ONCOSURG 2024 @ Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai - Moderating two live minimally invasive colore**al surgery sessions at this annual live surgery conference was a highlight of my month. It was a fantastic experience to reconnect with old colleagues and seniors, evoking a sense of nostalgia and camaraderie that I truly cherish.

These experiences have not only enhanced my expertise but also reinforced my commitment to advancing surgical practices in our country. I am grateful for the knowledge shared, the connections made, and the collaborative spirit that drives our field forward.

Here’s to ongoing learning and innovation in surgery! 🚀

I have reached 500 followers! Thank you for your continued support. I could not have done it without each of you. 🙏🤗🎉

Happy to share that we have performed our first PIPAC procedure at Fortis successfully.
PIPAC stands for pressurised intraperitoneal aerosolised chemotherapy .
It is a novel technique for intraperitoneal delivery of chemotherapy available at very few centres in India .It is useful in advanced stage abdominal cancers mainly o***y ,colore**al , stomach and mesothelioma patients who have failed on other cancer directed treatments .

It is also useful in controlling ascites formation in advanced abdominal cancers .

Great academic trip to Jammu & Katra last weekend

Fortis Cancer Institute ( FCI) Conducted a Collaborative CME on Updates in Re**al Cancer with Regional Cancer Centre and (AOI) Jammu

Very interactive and well attended CME with participation of all leading oncologists of the region.

So much has changed in the management of **alcancer over a span of few years ranging from total neoadjuvant therapy for high risk re**al cancer to deescalation of therapy for low risk cancers to Wait & watch for complete responders to asssited sphincter preservation and beyond TME surgeries.

We hope to continue the journey with many such academic collaborative meetings in future.
